Some of the tenants are trouble but landlord does nothing about it. Landlord blames everyone instead of dealing with the people responsible. Landlord threatens to evict her tenants often. Landlord can be unprofessional and talk to her tenants like children. House is falling apart. Complaints are ignored. Suggestions are ignored. If you choose to come here take my advice.. *Pay your rent *Avoid the landlord when possible *Avoid house meetings *Don't befriend anyone in the house *Keep to yourself DO NOT share or open up to the landlord, simply say you need a place to stay and that's it. There's a possibility your be misjudged, misplaced and misunderstood. Your time here is not secure so don't get too comfortable, stay focused on work, saving, and moving on to another place asap.

Got there and was told not a backpackers but more emergency housing for winns and the whole place reeked of smoking and other things. My room smelt horrific. Got no sleep because the people staying there were very loud and someone kept banging on my door randomly throughout the night. was scared to leave my room and use the bathroom which was very unclean. Tried to contact the manager and never got a reply. Only left one star because can't seem to go any lower

Love this place, Highly Recommended to Everyone!! The room was very clean and tidy as well as all the shared facilities like kitchen, bathrooms and laundry. All facilities are exactly what I needed, and the beds are comfy, and the rooms are quiet for good night sleep. Prime location!! You'll find yourself in the heart of the city centre. As per the name "Art house is full of beautiful paintings done by the owner lady. Also, She is so caring and helpful with excellent service. Plus, there is a recreation area with heaps of interesting books and TV. Overall, great experience. Would come back again.

DO NOT stay here. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. From when we first arrived there were two guys standing outside the door smoking(despite there being a clear 'No Smoking outside the door' sign. The smell of the smoke drifted upstairs so the entire place reeked of smoke. It was so bad it gave several of us headaches. After a couple of hours we discovered there were two leaks in the ceiling of our room because one of our suitcases was wet. I went to reception to inform someone then I followed the guy from reception back to our female only room where he opened the door a couple of inches, knocked lightly and immediately opened the door fully. My friend had luckily just finished getting dressed as the door opened. All the staff are really rude, don't greet you and don't care about their guests at all. The leaks weren't fixed and we were there 3 days. Although there were clear rules of no drinking and no drugs, the entire place constantly smelt of either smoke or cannabis and the other guests were constantly drinking and being noisy during quiet hours. There are mostly guys who stay there so as a large group of females, we felt very uncomfortable and not safe at all around them as they would stare at us. The beds were reasonably comfortable but I don't think the bedding gets cleaned after each guest. They only provide a bottom sheet (which was dusty) and a duvet which was absolutely filthy and smelt like it had never been washed. The pillows were also filthy and smelt. The bathrooms were dirty also and the shower cubicles are so small you have to squash up against the wall to open either door and I'm not a big person. There was also several types of hair throughout the showers and sinks. The windows in our room did not open so were always dripping with condensation which made everything damp. The entire place was clearly not built very well either as the floor dipped and rose all over the place and the bottom of the doors did not sit parallel to the floor and this is on the second floor. Overall it was the most horrible place I have ever stayed and I would recommend staying far away from it.

I loved this place, so colourful!β‘ Room and kitchen were very clean and good organized, with a lot of space for your own stuff. The bathroom was tidy as well but with not enough space in the showers, but you can survive. The staff is friendly and the locations is perfect, near bus stops, shops and city centre.

Had a bit of a negative first impression. I had booked for two weeks and upon arrival, I was told that they didn't have enough room keys so I wouldn't get a key for my own room until a couple days later, and I was not given wifi until I asked for it. Having said that, the manager Shauna is a really lovely lady and the location is quite convenient. Because the hostel does not allow alcohol on the premises (something to be aware of), it tends to attract many working people and was very quiet at night.

Very clean and quiet. Close to the bus stop and the center of town. The kitchen is fantastic. The staff is all part time, but are very friendly. The matress were the only problem, I could feel every spring, however I don't know if that was just my mattress.
