We had an absolutely fantastic day with Orca Wild Adventures! As a group of four Aussies, we couldn’t have asked for better weather or a more amazing experience. We were thrilled to see four large pods of dolphins, including adorable babies, and had the incredible opportunity to swim alongside a group of adult dolphins – truly a once-in-a-lifetime moment! The adventure didn’t stop there – we even spotted and followed two massive hammerhead sharks. The BBQ lunch was delicious, and the added bonus of snorkelling made the day even more special. The small group size was perfect, ensuring everyone had plenty of time to enjoy the experience up close and personal. The crew was knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about marine life, which made the trip all the more enjoyable. If you’re looking for an unforgettable wildlife adventure, this is it. Highly recommend!

I had a great trip with Orca Wild Adventures. We saw 3 pods of dolphins and had the opportunity to swim with 2! We also saw seals and other sea life. Emeline and Freya were so sweet and helpful. I would highly recommend booking a trip.

The dolphin expedition was one of the activity most looked forward to in our NewZealand tour and it definitely did not disappoint. We got to see 5-6 pods of dolphins, swam alongside them twice, had a bbq by the island. Got to snorkel at the island too. I was even considering a whale watching tour as we enjoyed ourselves so much on this one when the captain mentioned of the presence of a whale. And we got to see a whale too!!! Definitely had a great session and everyone had memories to last a lifetime.

We had a great day tour with Orca! We found 3 pods of dolphins that swam alongside the boat being really playful. Stopped for lunch at a local island where you could do some snorkelling with the crew / guides and a BBQ lunch was cooked for us. Great value for money (day was approx 8hours), so highly recommend!

Saw a baby dolphin which was incredible. I actually preferred watching from the boat as the swim you held onto a bar whilst the boat moves quite quickly meaning you're distracted by holding on and the white wash in your face and snorkel rather than enjoying seeing the dolphins. I preferred my experience in Kaikoura where you could properly swim with dolphins as opposed to holding onto the bar. Still a very special experience, skipper was lovely, and lunch catered to vegetarians like myself too. Overall a nice day out, sea gets v choppy though.

I have no words for how amazing this experience was. This was the best way to view the dolphins without disrupting the natural way that they behave. At one point I swear all the dolphins in the area were around us. You have created a magical memory that could never be forgotten. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Excellent adventure for the family! We absolutely loved it! Highly recommend taking some sealegs beforehand especially for kids! Also, although lunch was provided (awesome bbq of sausages, onions and bread) snacks and drinks are a must!

It was a memorable day with multiple pods of dolphins viewed from the boat. We left the dock just after 7.30 am and travelled for about 2+ hours on the boat. If you get seasick, they give you something to drink. They also provide coffee, tea and hot water. Staff was friendly and informed us of safety and what to expect. Swimming with the dolphins takes a bit of strength because of the current and because we were being pulled by the boat and we had to use our arm strength. Must have good grip. Even if you didn’t swim with them, seeing them up close was life changing. Dolphins were wild but curious. We went to their feeding grounds but made sure we didn’t disturb them. Bonus was we got to see a baby dolphin! That was amazing. Captain was knowledgeable and knew their patterns. Would recommend.

This is an amazing day trip that I can't recommend enough. The crew are fun and friendly, trying their hardest to make sure you have a truly magical experience. We saw a superpod with around 150-200 dolphins, we couldn't swim with this pod as they had babies, but a smaller pod was found later. The swimming part is clever, with poles that fold into the water, allowing you to be slowly dragged along with the boat whilst looking under the water with a snorkel, so you can keep up and see the Dolphins. The snorkeling later is also brilliant, seeing seals relaxing in the water and a reef with some interesting fish. Definitely book this trip if you have time in Tauranga
