Love it, our family go here often when we just want to cool down on a hot day.

Located in the center of Tauranga's waterfront, the Tidal Steps are a popular attraction for locals and visitors young and old. Β It's like an amphitheater, a defined and enclosed space with steps that fold down into Tauranga Harbour from The Strand. You can sit here with your toes dipped into the water whileΒ having a coffee or a bite to eat and soaking up Taurangaβs beautiful harbor, or watch children swimming, or teenagers water bombing off the bombing platform at the end of the adjacent pier. Β A karakia and poem about Tauranga are carved and painted into the stairs and you can see different parts of these revealed as the tide ebbs and flows.
