I have been here twice, both times for chips, and they are so yummy. I am sure all other food here is good.
Food tasted old and soggy. I got sweet and sour pork, some pieces were mushy while others were tougher and dry. The sauce for the sweet and sour pork was super sour and salty. Lemon chicken was dry. Noodles and fried rice were flavourless. Spring rolls were alright the singular crab stick I had was also okay. Everything else was bad
Cheeseburger had no cheese and looked like it had been flattened with barely any lettuce , chicken burger undercooked, forgot my fries than when I called up they tried to tell me I didn’t pay for them despite paying $40.50 ($9.50 chicken nuggets and chips, cheeseburger and chicken burger $14.00 for both, small smorgasbord $12.00, one scoop of chips $5.00). Didn’t apologise. Horrible service and horrible food. Would not recommend.
Store is dirty & run down. Called in here on Monday 19 August 2024. Had the Wong Ton Soup $14 (no noodles)(10). Very pricey, cheaper in city. Only got broccoli, no bok choy or chilly. Was some pork added. Soap did not taste fresh hence the 3☆. Try updating & simplifying your menu.
Not a place I'd recommend to eat in but the takeaways and the buffet is delicious. The buffet option is great value.
Service could be better, I rang to place an order and repeated the order just to make she got it. I asked if she could have it ready by 6:40 and when I arrived on time to pick up she hadn't even placed the order. She asked if I could wait another 40 minutes but I declined and left the establishment
Have been coming here my whole life and it’s been pretty decent with great service, a girl served us today and purposely tried to charge us $78 when what we ordered was $45, didn’t even apologise after and and gave my partner the wrong lids (so we got less). Rude attitude, and experience was overall very disappointing. Please train your staff better!
A go-to fish and chip shop when in Orewa, as it is way less over-salted than the local competitors. The deep-fried special 'B' (which is a scoop of chips, a piece of fish, and a hot dog on a stick) is a tasty and substantial (and, most importantly, cost effective) meal for one. Definitely one of the best takeaway stores on the Coast!
