   First in time for us - Great food and service! We had the "Trust the Chef" 4-set menu which was excellent. The portions were very generous and we left pretty full - just something to keep in mind if you were snacking beforehand.

   Great service, lovely menu. Honestly everything ok the menu is likely delicious but as you can’t eat it all we had to make some tough decisions. Carpaccio was a knockout, and the first restaurant we’ve managed to find with it on the menu in NZ since returning from years in Europe where it’s found everywhere! Gnocchi and braised lamb shoulder were amazing mains, as were the tiramisu and crème brûlée for dessert. Nice drinks menu also. Service staff were super attentive. Special mention to Ingrid who was super lovely and knowledgeable. Best restaurant we’ve found since getting back in 2023, and will be back for sure. Recommended.

   I gave this place the benefit of the doubt with a second chance, figuring the first visit's fiasco might've been a rogue asteroid of bad service. Alas, round two plummeted straight into the Bermuda Triangle of hospitality—rude, blatantly disrespectful, and served with a side of eye-rolls that could curdle milk. Even the bar staff looked like they were auditioning for a sympathy card, cringing harder than a cat at a cucumber convention as our so-called waiter unleashed his inner storm cloud on the poor patrons.Folks, Orewa's got a constellation of stellar spots that won't leave you plotting revenge via Yelp. Steer clear of this vibe, unless you're scouting for a masterclass in how not to wait tables. Bon appétit... elsewhere!

   We went here for our first wedding anniversary, seven years together. Amazing customer service, delicious food. Best Tiramisu ever. Loved the steak and the beetroot ravioli. We'll definitely be back.

   We had been waiting for something new in Orewa and couldn’t wait to try this place once it opened. Overall, every meal was very tasty. The service was good, although you could tell a number of the staff were new and the restaurant itself was new, so maybe a few kinks to iron out. But didn’t bother us at all. Will be back again for sure!

   Our first time dining at Semola was a pleasant experience. We arrived a early to have a drink in the whiskey bar off to the side of the main dining area.. It was a quiet and intimate setting to enjoy a couple of negronis and chat before dinner. We were seated, given menus and a run down of the food, great to see local ingredients used and stated on the menu. We had fresh Foccacia, veal Carparcio, heirloom tomato salad, crispy squid with lemon white beans, Gnocchi with braised lamb and crisp sage. It was all well presented and seasoned very well. Great to have a new restaurant in Orewa that's doing great food with a nice atmosphere, great drinks and professional service.. can't wait to go back.

   Loving Orewa’s new Semola! Excellent Italian inspired food and other options. Loved the chicken patē & fish main! My husband loved his lamb. The chefs do and excellent job! The ambience is amazing and it’s great to be able to relax in the whiskey bar. Do book this stylish restaurant is humming.

   We have been looking forward to trying out the local gem. We had a lovely evening, food and service were superb. The restaurant was very busy, we sat in view of the chefs doing their thing and they were slick and efficient. The Gnocchi was out the gate. Great to see this level of restaurant available in Orewa. Will definitely be back.
