   I’ve been coming to Bird Barn for years, and they have always provided high-quality pet food and excellent care for their animals. I was really disheartened to hear that the owners have even considered selling the business because of online hate. It would be incredibly upsetting if that happened. To clear up some of the claims being made online: the puppies are well cared for in a clean, air-conditioned room. They don’t allow just anyone to handle the puppies unless you’re a serious buyer, which is responsible and protects the animals. The puppies stay with their siblings until they go to loving, well-deserved homes, and they have proper space to play and socialise. There’s a misconception that only buying from breeders guarantees a healthy puppy — that’s simply not true. I personally know breeders who have multiple litters a year and don’t provide proper care at all. Bird Barn also takes in unwanted fish and rehomes them free of charge, which really speaks to their commitment to animal welfare. On top of that, they have an excellent membership rewards programme that genuinely helps customers save money. Please don’t take frustration or financial stress out on a business that is clearly trying to do the right thing. If people truly care about animal welfare, their anger should be directed at puppy mills — not a store that consistently shows care, responsibility, and community support.

   Beautiful birds in the store and back garden! Most of the larger parrots are store pets though and they only have cockatiels, ringnecks and budgies for sale. Good selection of bird toys, wholesale sized seed mix, seed bells, and cuttlefish bags at very reasonable prices :)
