Absolutely diabolical and rude service from May today. Literally paid $87 for my dog to have a bath when she was booked in to have a full groom. Generally takes just over an hour to groom. After two hours, no deshedding, facial groom nothing, I took my dog home. May was rude, argumentative and disrespectful.
They have the best staff, always super friendly. I'm pretty sure it's one of our dogs favourite places, she is always super disappointed when we walk past and it's shut on our late/early walks.
New to puppy ownership and have had several great experiences in the last 2 weeks. Dan & Haili (sorry if I have that wrong) were amazingly knowledgeable, providing options and advice. As well as other team members keen to assist. Skye is a magnet for attention. New toy is a hit. Thank you!
This is a review for Giovanni the Master Groomer. He is so gentle with my boy and always gives him a perfect full groom :) . He is the best at his work. And the best part is that not only my boy comes back looking handsome he also comes back HAPPY :) Giovanni is undoubtedly one of the best groomers in Auckland!
Not only was the service extremely unpleasant today, but when i got home, i realised something was wrong with my dogs eyes after she started crying as the swelling got worse - she has contracted an infection after her groom, which led to an after hours emergency vet trip, where they said this is common if the groomer cuts the dog, doesn't clean the equipment between dogs or uses harsh chemicals. My dog is prone to tear stains, so it wouldn't surprise me to know they used something harsh to try washing them. she is in a lot of pain. the experience used to be amazing. I will not be returning there for a groom, It looks as though it is under new "management" she used to come home smelling beautiful, with a little bandana round her neck and happy, the women there were so lovely. this is not the case there now.
I found Animates Westgate to be a very nice friendly shop, the staff are excellent in their listening skills and knowledge. I wasn't aware you could take your dog in on a lead. this was a great experience for me and my puppy. Thankyou
Always helpful staff and plenty of stock. Great dog wash area too!
