Popped into Capital Cycles for some help with my tyre and found really great service. Paul had good vibes about him, the type you find amongst cycle enthusiasts. He gave me a decent price for a new tyre and pump, and he put it on in no time, then he helped secure a loose brake cable. Also, they didn't mind my small dog waiting in the store, which is always nice.

Had a great experience here. When I got on my bike to head home after work I realised my mudguard was rubbing on my wheel and I wasn’t going anywhere. Stopped in here, a lovely guy fixed my mudguard for me in just a couple of minutes and didn’t even charge me anything! Thank you so much, really made my day!

I recently completed the Sounds to Sounds brevet from Ships Cove to Milford Sound. Before the event I’d been tolerating a bike set up that was giving me a few niggles, I hated using my aero bars because they were so uncomfortable, and my MTB shoes needed replacing with a pair more suitable for the ‘hike a bike’ sections of the brevet. I’d had a bike fit elsewhere but it just wasn’t working out for me. In desperation I asked Paul to help. Pretty risking changing things only a week before S2S - a 1,586 km /16,000 vertical metre / 16 day journey. Paul got his plumb bob out and tweaked the hell out my bike set up. I had no time to test it so it needed to be good. A week later I rode 16 days in a row. I was on the bike all day every day, up to 10 or 11 hours a day. I usually suffer from cramp. I did not get cramp once. I rode pain free day after day. I loved using my aero bars as much as possible, they saved energy, and offered hand position and back relief. You can keep computer screen videos and photos with dots and lines. Someone with a plumb bob, a measuring tape and years of experience wins hands down IMHO. Thanks again Paul. Brilliant work.

Such a great team, I took my bike into the store in and paul worked with me to figure out how to get me going as fast as possible, he was extremely thorough. As a complete novice in cycling what I appreciated most was the time paul took to help me understand the changes he was making to the bike and also why each new part was needed. Such great service and am taking my bike in again this friday!

I'm a very tall bloke and not young anymore, so lacking flexibility I needed a new road bike as I was suffering from lower back pain if I tried to do a reasonable distance. I'd spent a few years searching for a new bike to no avail. When I called the store and spoke to Paul, he understood my needs and after a few days got back to me with a perfect solution. He managed to identify a frame that would work for m, which no one else I'd ever spoken to had ever been able to do. After a few weeks of waiting the bike arrived and I fly up to Wellington for Paul to fit me to it. His bike fitting skills are second to non. I simply couldn't be happier. I'm now back to riding 100km days again, and it's due to Paul, Oliver, Liam and the rest of the team at Capital Cycles. I look forward to my next visit to Wellington to see the team. Regards Fraser Hocks

I went to Paul asking for a road bike, after talking a bit more about my needs and my past experience. He worked with my budget and custom built me the most perfect bike I could have asked for. His customer service is top notch, his team are incredibly skilled. I’ll be back for my mountain bike.

This place is awesome, hands down one of the best bike shops in Wellington. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. As a first time triathlete branching into the world of "big girl pedals" etc, Paul and the boys made me feel well looked after, got me into the right gear (my butt says thank you!) and took time to explain how everything worked. Highly recommended!
