   Had one night here so can't say much about the service and location, we found a couple of places to get drinks and food both reasonably close. Good hotel, comfortable bed well equipped room. Would of liked more time to explore the building.

   If you absolutely love old world design and charm this is the place for you. This stunning building has been around over 100 years and inside is a gorgeous staircase and the old lift with the lattice sliding door (to be honest the stairs are faster!). Beautiful room and quiet, high ceilings and great comms about coming in a bit late in the day/evening. Very good value, super close to central amenities and most importantly for me, my work.

   We stayed here for one night on Saturday. There were no front-of-house staff on duty when we arrived and we just picked up our room key in an envelope left at the front desk. Our room on the 4th floor was unheated and the heat pump failed to work. We managed to contact a "back room" staff member who arranged for us to transfer to another room on the 3rd floor with central heating. While the room was nice, the pillows on the bed proved to be too hard and we had a very broken night. Furthermore, there were no guest facilities open at the weekend so no food or drink could be served. For a stay that did not include breakfast, the $250 tariff was rather steep. Best avoided at the weekend.

   Great value for money. Clean comfortable beds. Fantastic staff. Beautiful bathroom with large bath. Windows that open to let in fresh air. It will be fabulous once the bar and dinning areas are open.

   This is a unique and brilliantly eccentric experience that I’d recommend. It is like stepping back in time. Lift is 1920s style with a small sliding wooden door and cage (maximum of 4 people). Decor is similarly like a Time Machine (all polished wood, carpets and black and white tiles). Freemasons were meeting on the 2 floors below us. Building is beautiful. Room was clean and quiet (we couldn’t tell if there was anyone on the floor with us), with an enormous bathroom. You need to try this at least once. But don’t expect it to be like staying in a 5 star modern hotel - that isn’t what you are buying here.
