“Great food and nice people well recommended food on the go”
“We had one of their cakes gifted to us as a birthday surprise and it was delightful, both in presentation and taste - recommended highly”
“The best pub in Katikati. The locals welcome you with open arms! Awesome outdoor area! Great little pub.”
“To be honest I wasn't expecting much from our stay, expected just a simple night stop with no frills. Rooms and bathrooms were surprisingly kept at a good standard, clean and well maintained. The term "don't judge a book from its cover" very well applies here. Much to add the the hotel is a pet project of the owner to as his goal is to develop an aging hotel and turn it into a must stop motel, so note on further improvements in the upcoming months. To share a funny experience we had our carkeys accidently locked in while unpacking, but the owner/manager Ken went over mountains to help us by calling for help and making sure our stay was fun and pleasant. And to even invite us to Karaoke night at the bar downstairs with the locals which we had a blast with. Final thoughts - I would definitely make sure to make this part of my road trip route the next time I visit NZ. The locals, hotel, and owner all of them made our stop unexpectedly fun and vibrant.”
“Such a cool little mobile café. Blown away by the coffee, the classic ham and cheese toastie was absolutely fantastic.”
“Awesome cafe! The girls are all super lovely and seriously make the best coffee ever. Tried a slice and my mother in law had a scone and we were both equally impressed. Highly recommend stopping in”
“I recently visited the Horse and Jockey Inn, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a charming ambiance. The Room was cosy, which immediately made me feel at home. The food was exceptional! The menu had a great variety of dishes. The service was excellent, and the staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and ensure that I enjoyed my experience. The friendly demeanor made me feel like a valued guest. Overall, I highly recommend the Horse and Jockey Inn for anyone looking for a fantastic experience. The food, service, and ambiance all exceeded my expectations, and I will definitely be returning soon.”

“Super clean and spacious. I stayed in a studio & it had its own private patio out back. The thermal pool was great, the grounds are immaculate. Really friendly and accomadating hosts. Carpark is right in front of your room and the wait for uber to location is not super long (less than 10min when not peak). Would stay again.”

“Good menu with very reasonable prices. Open to all, not just members. The restaurant has a separate entrance to the right of the main entrance. The baked Camembert was delicious and a great starter to share and I loved the Samosas with Feijoa chutney. The Coq au Vin was delicious and my husband loved the steak which was perfectly cooked. The kids meal was great value for $10. My daughter enjoyed the cheeseburger and fries, followed by a mango sorbet.”
“They provide groceries at a small cost to ngongotaha locals every Thursdays from 7.30 to 11am. Have a 2nd hand shop to buy clothes and other items at a small cost. Tea, coffee & kai for free when you walk through the door. A great service for those in need. Made possible through donations & a wonderful staff of volunteers.”
“We are french visiting Mount Maunganui and rent this seaview luxury appartment. We really enjoyed the comfort, the sea view, the included swimming pool and to be closed to hot pools for massage, to the trail on Mount Maunganui, the restaurants and bars. The building is located between the Bay of Plenty and the Pilot Bay. Our host Shelley was a very careness person and clear in her explanations.”
“Was over from Rotorua, really nice ladies and lovely shopping experience.”

“GREAT coffee and a great little espresso bar. Small but thoughtful food selection. Would I go back for another coffee - too right I will. Highly recommended. The only espresso bar like it on Newton Street.”

“Absolutely loved our visit to this cafe today. Came in with my family and we enjoyed the food and service. I had the Eggs Benedict with salmon, hands down the best I’ve ever had! The hollandaise was silky and rich, and the salmon was perfectly cooked. We also tried the Big Breakfast, which was actually big, fresh, and delicious. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was relaxed and family friendly. We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!”
