“Tasty Cafe & Bakery in Avondale is a popular eatery that I've often visited in the last few years. The overall impression I get is that this is a great place to buy food from or dine in with family and friends. The array of pies the bakery creates is unique and never disappoints! I went for the new Cambodian fish curry pie and hot chips and it was a great combo! The pie pastry is always on point, the curry flavour infused with lemongrass (I think) is unique and flavoursome and the hoki fish melts in your mouth! Also the hot chips were crispy and tasty! Great pie and hot chips and I'll be back again for more!”

“I’m amazed! Such beautiful dishes and they are delicious as well. Not to mention averagely priced for being much nicer and visually enthralling than in most places. Highly recommend this place, specifically the creamy mushroom rostis and the fluffy pancakes (have never eaten something so fluffy). The macchiato coffee and iced chocolate with almond milk were great as well. Free water, which is great. Nice place, chill atmosphere, friendly service. Very happy to have gone here! Will come again, especially for special occasions.”

“Visiting from Canada and enjoyed popping in here a couple times for lunch. After the noon rush was a bit more relaxed but our meal was just as tasty with great coffee as well. You can always wander about in the gift shop or browse the plants while you’re waiting. Such a nice atmosphere and lovely staff.”

“This is a lovely wee place that serves your standard cafe food. Nothing fancy or over the top but very well done. The eggs bennie was superb, eggs perfectly runny and a good quantity of delicious bacon (ordered with a side of delightful crispy hashbrowns). The flat white was a perfect flavoured shot and served hot. The staff were also friendly and efficient. I came during early morning as the cafe opens at 7 am, it was a quiet spot where I could enjoy my own company. Wheelchair accessible although the tables can be a tight squeeze to get past in one. Plus an outdoor area perfect for those hot summer days. Free parking lot available but be mindful to park in areas labelled cafe.”

“We had an amazing experience. The coffee was so delicious and velvety. The hot chocolate had a little butterfly design with sprinkles which was so cute. The portion sizes are very generous for the price. I love that there is a darker area to sit and a business lounge upstairs. Cabinet food looked fresh and we'll presented. Staff were so kind and had beautiful smiles and a warm, welcoming presence. I was blown away with all of the breathtaking artwork too. A fantastic cafe! We will definitely be back with friends x”

“Many thanks for accommodating our group of 17 this week. Scones and muffins were yum. Thanks to Tony for welcoming us and sorting a relaxing place to sit and chat to each other and to have our coffee and eats.( We sat in the new Gallery at the retro tables and chairs set out) The ladies enjoyed their opportunity to view Annah's creations and the chance to shop. I pre-booked online the new Gallery and arranged for us to have coffee beforehand. Cafe and shop staff were very welcoming and friendly. I had phoned before hand to let Frock know how many ladies and what food choices were made and, was even asked if we wanted savoury or sweet scones/ muffins. Thankyou.”

“What an interesting little café, Vintage Café is. It has a real country vibe. Steady stream of customers. The menu is good and the food cabinet is inviting. The atmosphere was good, had the quiet hum of intense conservation, radio in the background, sounds of coffee being made, and intense chatter out in the kitchen. The service was excellent. Yes, there was a slight wait to be served, but then there was a number of customers being served and waiting for their coffee. The young lady making coffee did an amazing job and handled the pressure really well. My kāwhe was perfect, large cappuccino with choc (of course). Eggs Benedict with bacon was perfect (didn't stay long on the plate) and the mango smoothie, yum. All arrived promptly and were devoured just as promptly. It's definitely worth a visit, as is the gift shop next door.”

Great serving size, not huge but the quality was excellent. and the coffee had a nice strength and flavour, the perfect cup! The place was very clean, staff lovely, not too busy and varied seating, easy parking and nice location. Could do with more street signage”
