There is something really special about this kindy. There are plenty of trees for natural shade, and there is so much to explore outside. It is currently being renovated so the indoor space is going to be new and improved when it reopens next year!”

“We love the Halswell Learning Tree. Our four year old goes there and always comes home with a big smile on his face. They do all sorts of different things, he is always bringing different goodies home to show us. Highly recommend. Such a great family feel, with real homely experiences, gardening and baking etc.”

“Busy Bees is a wonderful family friendly environment for your child to grow and develop. We have enjoyed the experience very much and have enrolled our second child. He is a very busy almost 2 year old and he loves it. He runs into the Center and is always greeted by the smiling friendly staff. They do not hesitate to go above and beyond if you have a problem. They are very solution focused and deliver a high standard of care and education. Each child has a primary care giver but all of the staff deliver cuddles smiles and love as required. We get a summary of the day on pick up and regular updates via Story Park complete with photos. I recommend Busy Bees as the place to be and thank them for the care and love they have shown our family.”

All the teachers are incredibly skilled, patient, kind, dedicated and loving with all the children. It’s a very outdoorsy and creative childcare centre which is what we love the most. “I can't recommend CELC more highly. I have been blown away by the centre and the team who make it so special. My two children have blossomed during their time at CELC. The teachers are kind, caring and intentionally foster a safe, calm, stimulating environment for the children. There are fun new activities daily, the children are taught in a way which fosters a love of learning, and they learn not only information about how the world works but also about self-care, relationship skills and emotion regulation. “Great to have something besides kids playgrounds. Off course these are also very important to the community.. But this fitness are, located on 2 corners of the park.. Provides very good opportunities for a decent upper body workout using your own weight. Also you could do jogs/runs from one corner to the other corner to have a cardio component as well. “I honestly cannot praise Ilam Montessori School enough. it is simply beyond amazing. My son has been attending daycare and preschools since he was 6 months old, he is 4.5 years old now so we've gone through a number of centres and Montessori schools over the years. But truly, nothing compares to Ilam Montessori. When we moved down to Christchurch from Auckland about 6 months ago, my 4-year-old son and I visited many different schools. In the end, I let him decide where he felt most comfortable, and without hesitation he chose Ilam Montessori, other schools just could not even compare. The owner, Rebecca, truly makes this place special. Her passion and genuine care shine through in everything she does. She takes the time to know each child’s personality and loves and cares for them as if they were her own. I also really like how she keeps parents updated, every time I pick up my son, she shares the highlights (and even the challenges) of his day. That simple act means so much when I can’t be there with him. At other daycares I’ve experienced, teachers seemed just wanted parents in and out and couldn't be bothered. But Rebecca makes sure we always feel connected to our children when we are not there with them. The quality of care here is on another level. Every child is treated as an individual, with well-thought out programs, activities, and plans designed to help them thrive. You can tell they put in so much efforts and the teachers aren’t just “doing a job”. They really love what they do and genuinely enjoy spending time with the children. That passion shows in everything, from the way they engage with the kids to the purposeful, well-planned activities that help build focus, confidence, and joy in learning. It’s such a nurturing, inspiring environment where children are loved, supported, and encouraged to flourish. My son is thriving here, and as a mum, I couldn’t be more grateful. Ilam Montessori is truly the best preschool we’ve ever experienced, and I would recommend it wholeheartedly to any parent.”

“We had our 3 children attend this kindy, it was and still is their favourite place. The staff are absolutely wonderful and they are the highlight of this kindergarten. Their care and attention to every family is so special. The teachers have incredible knowledge and experience and they form such a lovely bond with the kids. The oldschool feel of the kindy is nostalgic to our childhood with activities and toys we loved as kids too. They always have new and exciting stations setup for the kids to explore. The outside space is ideal, a large sandpit, mud kitchen and woodwork table were amongst our children’s favs. The new playground is coming along so well and we look forward to seeing the progress. Highly recommend this kindergarten!”
