“This place is awesome and you can’t cut it any other way. They were out of hot meat pies when we arrived but they did have a meat pie in their cold case that they could heat up so what’s the difference? It was tasty! The desserts were incredible and the sandwiches were lovely as well. They also had lots of different groceries so we picked up different snacks and beverages. They even had nag champa! We ate our sandwiches on a little table overlooking the beach. This place is a gem and it was open super early in spring around August-September.”

“Well I’ve been frequenting this lovely little shop and feel fortunate to be able to get such things in walking distance. The lady is always friendly and helpful. I had the best roti here after trying several other places. It has all the spices and rice to make a homemade biryani. Fresh chillies and murku. I did cheat tonight and also bought some off the shelf dal makhani, perfect with the roti. All round lovely shop to have in the neighborhood.”

“10.30pm Wednesday night, I click the chatbot on the website to ask about fish sauce. I was expecting a generic robotic reply but to my surprise, someone from Foody started responding. After 15 mins of chat i'd filled my cart with fish sauce, rice noodles, special beef broth, seaweed noodles, vinegar, chilli sauce and was directed to their blog for an authentic spring roll recipe. My fave though was instructions on how to cook my rice noodles so they're not gluggy (cook on low heat, test with fingers so they're the right texture, immediately remove and rinse thoroughly with cold water). I've just received notification that the delivery is on its way. Thank you to whoever I was chatting to, it was such outstanding service that you've got a very happy new customer!”

“This is my go to Filipino store in South Auckland, and when we were in West Auckland. They have several branches all over Auckland. They sell everything Filipino and they have a good range of choices. Pricing is also reasonable. They sometimes go on special which makes the products really cheap! They also have rewards system which you can use as actual dollars to buy stuff from the store. So if you are missing Filipino dishes and want to cook one, this is the place to go for ingredients.
