I want to acknowledge the incredible kindness, care, and dedication they show not only to the tamariki but also to the whānau I work with. They have gone above and beyond to ensure whānau are supported with their essential needs, generously providing items for those experiencing financial hardship. The level of aroha and commitment they bring to their role is truly inspiring, and it makes a meaningful difference in the lives of our community. “MyFirst Preschool is such a hidden gem. I love the smaller, more personal environment — with fewer children, the teachers can truly connect. When my daughter was still settling in, I often saw the teachers having warm one-on-one chats with her, giving her cuddles and making her feel safe. She’s blossomed here, and the teachers put so much thought into planning engaging activities every day. Recently, they’ve even added music sessions, where she has learnt to keep rhythm — such an unexpected delight. Highly recommended.”

“Peacocks Epsom is one of the best asset for families and children. My 15m old loves going every day and has a smile for her teachers as soon as she gets there. I love the variety of activities they have for the kids everyday and the care they give them. The staff are very kind, patient, attentive and caring. Definitely recommend this centre!”

“Barnardos Manurewa is an incredible daycare. The teachers are loving, welcoming and always having the children's educational needs front of mind. They have a very clean facility and maintain a high standard of safety for the children too. Best daycare in South Auckland for sure!”

“A well run well resourced small centre. The teachers are caring and attentive, the whole family feels welcome when we do drop offs and pick ups. A lot of opportunities for messy and creative play. Regular updates and photos. Children spend a lot of time outdoors. Unfortunately, winter bugs are very common among under twos but that’s the case in all centres, especially post-covid.”

“Both of our boys attended Stepping Stones and they were always keen to go. I was always confident that they were safe and happy there. What I found most impressive about the teaching team is that they are continuously improving. They frequently seek feedback and try new ways of approaching communication with parents, and engaging the children. Their backyard area is a great example of frequent innovation to cater to the children's different interests and their short attention spans! I really enjoyed an evening event that a few of the teachers held for parents of the older children. The teachers introduced themselves and talked to us about their approach to planning and executing lessons with the children. And they let us try out some of the exercises - it was good fun and a great way to understand how the learning objectives connect with play. There are also great additional activities available to the children such as Playball, Yoga and Dance - which both of my children have really enjoyed. I thoroughly recommend Stepping Stones.”

“My daughter attended the Royal Oak Learning Centre for about six months, and I couldn’t be happier with how much she’s grown. Moving to a new country was a big adjustment for her, and this was the first learning centre she attended here. Naturally, she felt a bit uncertain at first, especially since her English was limited and only one other child spoke Chinese.What really stood out to me was how the centre handled her situation with such care. They arranged for a Chinese-speaking teacher to support her, which made a world of difference in helping her feel secure and understood during that challenging time. The teachers are not just skilled, but also genuinely caring. They really take the time to get to know each child and their needs, creating a warm and nurturing environment where kids actually look forward to learning. Thank you to the entire team for making her learning experience so enriching and enjoyable!”

The team clearly care deeply for the children at this centre, and have been easy to communicate with at all times. My daughter has been well supported in her emotional and social development and the team have established a strong foundation for her learning journey. She has happily started school as a confident and well-rounded girl, which is in large part thanks to the team at Our Kids Glendene.”

“I’ve sent both my girls to Busby over the last 2 years and it’s been the best decision for our family. Not only do our girls absolutely love the staff, us as parents, have also formed an amazing bond with the teachers. We really couldn’t ask for a better daycare. Alexia and Allie have been so easy to deal with and they create such engaging activities for the kids. Both my girls have learnt so much and absolutely love going. It’s very comforting to know the girls are always in good hands. I can’t thank all the staff enough.”

“My boy was at ActiveExplorers from 6 months old to 2 years. We moved out west so had to transfer but it is a lovely daycare with wonderful staff, warm and welcoming teachers. We liked their kaupapa and instilling tikanga in our tāmariki, with regular catch up events for parents and teachers that includes nibbles. They are connected to the community and have plenty for the kids to do, including guests who come in including emergency services or song and dance. All the children there are lovely and you can see they are all happy. It’s a lovely place and though it’s on the pricier side of daycares, you will feel safe and comfortable with your child there. Edit: I forgot to add that we were very impressed with the hygiene and cleanliness. You can see they put so much effort into ensuring ailments don’t spread as much as can be controlled. They have a high level of care that goes into ensuring the children’s health and wellbeing.”

“I have absolutely loved Ako Adventures. They watched 2 of my children and they grew and thrived in their environment. It was sad that we had to leave due to relocating, but if we were in the area we would definitely come back! All staff were amazing towards me and my family. We thank you so much!!”

“Absolutely love Acorn and has been amazing for my 2 children... Catherine who runs it genuinely cares for all the children and wants to make it a great environment for pre school development with the right mix of fun and learning. They have a 4 year old programme run for 4 year olds (as you'd expect) and is designed to get them ready for school with some of the elements of school... this is a perfect intro for my daughter who got an award at her first school assembly for settling in so quickly. The Christmas concert they put on is also a yearly highlight... and even though I'm off work this week and my son could stay at home, he has wanted to go to Acorn to play with his friends each day... I highly recommend Acorn to anyone considering a ELC in Auckland!”

“Wonderful little centre with caring kaitaki looking after the tamariki, our two children attended over a 2.5 year period and were very loved and nurtured through their early learning journeys, they both built amazing relationships with their kaitiaki. Lots of excursions out of the centre, outdoor play and community events. Would absolutely recommend.”
