A absolutely wonderful motel, and the owners, Barry and Donna, are the most hospitable couple we met during our travels through Southland. Their property is so clean and well presented, and only minutes walk to most bars and restaurants. We will most definitely stay again.
I highly recommend this accommodation. When I first entered the room, it smelled wonderful and was incredibly cleanβthere wasn't a speck of dust. The room was also very spacious and fully equipped with everything you might need. There's free Wi-Fi, and even Netflix is available at no extra cost! And I also liked super kind and friendly staffs there. If you're planning to visit Dunedin, I strongly recommend staying here.
We had a lovely weekend at Dunedin and would highly recommend Amross Motel, started with a lovely welcome and lots of really helpful information for our next couple of days, the location is perfect, walk into town, the museum is really close and the stadium is easily walked to. The unit was just perfect, spotlessly clean and everything we needed. I would recommend Amross for your Dunedin stay. Hope we can get back, still so much we didn't get to do. Thanks so much

Amross would have to be one of the best places we have ever stayed. The room was so clean, tidy, spacious with everything that we needed. I have never seen a bed made so beautifully! We were part of a larger work group and everyone was so happy with their accomodation. Barry and Donna (hosts) are fantastic people who you would, and did, go above and beyond to help out. Nothing was a problem. Plenty of parking, good laundry facilities, close to plenty of good food places etc. Highly recommended and will definitely return.
Spacious and very clean. To be honest this room was the cleanest room we had during our 14 day stay in New Zealand. Probably cleaner than our 5 star stay in Asia. As soon as we checked out we saw the owners rush to our room to clean. Highly recommended especially when the cheap cost is counted.
Very comfortable hotel in a great location! It genuinely felt like a home away from home - Barry and Donna are great hosts! We did not make plans for sightseeing in Dunedin since it was the last stop of a 2-week road trip before heading home, but I did not want to walk away not seeing anything! We told Barry this upon arriving at the hotel and he gave us a list of things to do and see around town! It was an awesome list with a mix of shopping, outdoors activities, and wildlife spotting. He also provided several dining options within walking distance of the hotel. Unfortunately, we weren't able to knock everything off the list before our day was over and have decided that we need to visit again in the future!
Definitely a 10/10 motel, exceptionally well maintained and we would definitely come back next time. We stayed one night on March 13, 2023. We booked the Executive Studio which has a high end hotel-like vibe, modern decor, warm interior colors, heaps of space, fridge, laundry and kitchen, and particularly clean, smelled refreshing as well. That hotel-like look and feel was perfect for us and there was also plenty of FREE car parking, which is something you probably wonβt find in the hotels around the city centre. The bathroom was also roomy, the Studio room comes with fridge, laundry machines, electric cooking stove and kitchen ware you need to cook your own meals (cups bowls plates knife fork spoons, cutleryβs and sink). The host Donna really was amazing, she should be the role model setting examples for other motels in the region. Thanks Donna for your hospitality. On the other hand, it does appear that the Executive Studios are located on the 1st floor, which means that if you have heavy luggageβs, it may get your worked out a bit.
Would stay here again! We only stayed for 1 night but could easily stay longer. Such a perfect little room for us. Super clean and neat. Donna and Barry were lovely also! Made check-in and check-out really easy. Gave us lots of options of things to do while we were there. 100% recommend!
