   We attended our daughter's dinner in the chancellor room.We had a bar and a big dining room and foyer for photos for the wedding .Our hostess and bar tender Charlotte was personable and very professional.We loved the atmosphere and we were grateful for all the help Charlotte did for us by setting flowers and decorations around the room. 5 stars at the fable hotel. THANK YOU

   The Fable has the best team in the country. Outstanding customer service, kind, friendly, natural and genuine. Everyone will go above and beyond to make your stay great. The location is ideal, rooms are luxe. The Press Club is also fantastic, delicious food, impeccable hospitality. Don’t go to any other hotel in Dunedin if you appreciate being looked after as a person not a room number.

   Lovely stay, only downfall was the elevator not operating until 9am. We where on the 3rd floor, had lots of luggage, had to carry it down the stairs. Revamp the elevator to not disturb other guests as expecting guests to carry luggage down stairs is a health and safety issue. Needs to be some sort of consideration here. Unfortunately for my yearly visit i will not be returning to this hotel.

   The hotel itself is lovely, and the staff were great, but our king deluxe room was quite small, with a very small bathroom. There was quite a lot of street noise that we could hear from the 6th floor. We understand this is not something you can control, but perhaps with thicker or double glazed windows some of the street noise could have been blocked. The bed was comfy but the temperature of the shower was up and down and hard to control. We expected a bit more for what the room cost. As far as the restaurant and staff, we could fault neither. Everyone we came across was very helpful and the food from the restaurant was outstanding, as were the cocktails. Dinner and breakfast service were both excellent. Thank you to the wonderful team for making us feel so welcome.

   Had a very nice stay at Fable. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location, 10 minutes from the Octagon. The attached bar and restaurant called the Press Club, is also excellent. Our room was a touch on the small side but big enough.

   Very nice hotel. First time I’ve ever been given a tablet at check in for menus and calls. Room was very nice and clean. Decorated to a big standard. Slightly disappointed to pull back curtains to find a wall. Front desk staff and catering team very friendly. room service was quick and easy, and the porridge in the mornings is quite possibly the best porridge I’ve ever had!

   Service was rubbish. Meal orders for both room service and in the restaurant were wrong. When calling reception, there was often no answer. The staff were often too busy socialising with each other than helping guests. We saw other guests at reception having the exact same issues. The tablet they give you to use as a menu/room-phone is a novel idea, but plagued with software bugs, so didn't work very well. The room was fine, but very small, and the shower hadn't been cleaned properly. Food was ok - but massively over-priced. Wouldn't stay again.

   Favourite hotel in New Zealand. Just lush. Made to feel like a million dollars. As a solo traveler felt safe and looked after. Staff offered great suggestions. Room was beautiful. Definitely be back asap.
