The hotel is very old, which is part of its charm. The view of the church is very soothing. Although the sheets were not perfectly white, the room was clean (except for the bathtub, which I had to wash before using). The downside is the customer service. I called the hotel before booking; my first question was whether there was a parking space. The answer was yes β which is great, especially since itβs monitored. Unfortunately, I wasnβt able to ask my second question because the lady hung up right away. I wanted to know if the hotel had a kitchen. In the hotelβs information book, a kitchen is mentioned. For my second night, I therefore planned to cook for myself, but I wasnβt allowed access. The kitchen seems to be reserved for guests staying in dorms (at 198 dollars per night, I thought I would also be allowed to use it since nothing indicates otherwise). I was then given a remark by the manager (who graciously allowed me to finish cooking my pasta) and told that I had to leave the hotel before 10 a.m. This ruined my experience. A lady who had booked the dorms insisted on turning off the kitchen lights while I was still inside, giving me hostile looks. I do not recommend this hotel; donβt pay extra for the suite, choose the cheaper option instead.

Our stay was very much benefited by the choice to keep someone on the front desk 24/7 On our first night, we ran into an issue with our room where one of the windows, once opened, would not properly re-lock, with us being on the fire escape this presented a security issue. The clerk on duty saw it fit, instead of leaving us in worry, to change us to a different room where the issue was both not present, and unable to occur - something that would not have been possible without an actual human. The room we started in was simple, as intended, with adequate facilities and a really nice shower despite the backpacker nature of it. The bunks were sturdy even for a heavyset person. With the backpacker setup, there is a small kitchen with a large fridge available on the ground floor - a little hidden, but it looked well provisioned in terms of utensils and crockery. There was even a high chair for those in need. There is also a sitting room on the first floor filled with a gorgeous assortment of armchairs and a book nook. The room we were moved to had good space and the addition of a desk where we were able to set up my computer and I was able to get some writing done in comfort. The sound baffling between rooms appears solid, with no obvious sounds from other rooms heard. There is a guest laundry available, with both the washer and dryer wanting 2x$2 to run a cycle. There was an iron but it wasn't working for us - again we were able to let the staff know and hopefully this will be resolved. Housekeeping were polite and understanding, stepping up when they found we didn't have a "Do Not Disturb" sign to hang, finding one for us to add for the times we needed it. The building is old, with creaking floors and elevators that reflect this, but it still feels sturdy.

Great value for money, very prime location in the city with free car park included. Our room is well renovated , hot and strong shower, nice bathroom and beds. Reception staff very helpful. Will come back again.

The receptionist was lovely and helped me with my suitcases and explained places to visit in town. It was quite an eerie hotel with a lot of old fashion furniture and creaking floorboards. The beds were very comfortable but the rooms could do with a bit of upgrading.

Five stars for the money I paid. I had covid and stayed here for my time seeing it out earlier in the year. Very accomodating and brought me up some food and newspapers and looked after my moto. Bath was very welcome. Thanks for looking after me. Cool nostalgia with the old hotel too.

It's not the Hilton but perfectly fine for a night or two, has all the facilities, great price and central to everything. It can be a bit noisy, but we managed a decent sleep.

Only thing I can suggest for better cleaning. Found dust on top of doors. I've an allergy to dust. But other than that. Happy experience. Reasonably cheap, quiet, practical experience. Found good food close.

This is one of the worst hotel in the world. Funny enough it is not cheaper than other around yet the quality is very poor. Room not clean, cotton very dirty and old. To microwave food is a problem and after you tried going to the ground floor kitchen, very dirty, microwave not clean, nothing to cover you food. Very irritating. There is no value for money lodging in this hotel
