At The Gintrap Restaurant & Bar, the menu stays classic fish-and-chips, served with an easygoing pace. Outdoors works well when the weather plays along. Easy to carry out for a simple night in. Cakes and scoops finish things neatly. Kūmara fries and sides add a tidy finish.
Every year we hold our Ladies Christmas Party for Pan Pac in the Elbow Room it is the most amazing space to hold a private get together for around 20-30 people. This year our table set up was outstanding and worked fantastically for 20
Went here for a work lunch. They had prepared a big table inside as well as outside so we could make a choice once we got there but since it was a beautiful day we chose outside. Great atmosphere, perfect to hang out on a sunny day. Amazing food, only took photos of two meals but all of them were amazing. Couldn't test the drinks as we were lunching on company time but I'm sure at a place called the Gin trap, their drinks would have been amazing too.
The place for lunch on a Friday. From Zero to 100 in under a minute. The waitresses were really good with surprising me with delicious Pink gins. (The options were endless so I left the decision to their expertise) food was yum. Would highly recommend.
Good recommendations. Nice view of sea. Great food and drinks. Easy parking close by. Atmosphere was coastal chic. Gin went well with chowder for a holiday start.

Firstly who drinks wine at the Gin trap, like come on? Now we had to go for a 5 star, the service was great, friendly and honest. The Taco share platter was a good sized meal for two. Lots of variety and great tasting food. Paired with some of the best beer battered chips I’ve had! Aioli was amazing! And on to the gins, huge range, awesome choices, and delicious flavours. All of the best tonic options to go along side. The little biddy hazy spiced apple was superb. Followed closely by the broken heart quince. 10/10 Would recommend to a friend.
I decided to just have dessert and a drink here. The desserts are on another level the mousse one I had had gin on ice on the top so delicious.. And the cheesecake definitely was yummy with coffee.. Atmosphere was buzzing and had a great view of the Ahuriri Harbour. Staff were excellent too very friendly and helpful..
We met here with friends for a dinner catchup and the whole experience was awesome. It's very busy so we made a reservation which meant we were seated quickly and soon browsing the extensive gin bible. The staff really know their gin pairings and recommended the best tonic for each. The food was excellent and the coffee cheesecake dessert didn't disappoint. The service was really great and we'll definitely be back next time
