Have been going to same Dr at this clinic since 2005, nearly 21yrs, they have always been helpful and have seen me wherever I make an appointment nearly on time mostly. 15m appointment is what we get and if you need more time you pay extra, that's pretty fair. The clinic is extremely busy so don't expect to walk in and say, I'd like to see a Dr, as that won't happen, if you think thats unfair then go to Emergency Dept at the hospital. Thanks for your service throughout my time as a patient with you.

Seems appointment times are irrelevant here. The shortest wait time I've had is 35 minutes but on average I'm waiting 45 -60 minutes for my appointments. Not ideal to be sitting in a space for that period of time when you are unwell or have a toddler. I made the shift to have a medical centre closer to home once I had my child but I transferred from a medical centre where you would wait a maximum time of 20 minutes. Feels like the commute would be a better use of my time. I appreciate everyone who works here is kind, helpful and are doing the best they can but if I had my time over I would have remained with my old medical centre.

Hideous service. The receptionists (three in particular) seem completely incapable of basic courtesy? Calling this place is a nightmare.. when someone finally picks up, Iβm often met with outright rudeness. My last call with Karen was so unbelievably hostile that I literally had to tell her, βstop being so rude to me,β and hang up! And I didnβt even get what I needed. Your job is to help people over the phone.. how is that so hard ? I stay only because my doctor is good; otherwise, I would have left lonnngggg ago. Avoid this hole unless you want to be treated like an annoyance rather than a patient :(

My son is 10 this year so will be our 10th year here - & over those 10 years weβve been with this medical centre today was the first time I left IN TEARS & frustrated - at the fact that we had to wait 1 hour & 15minutes for my 6 year old daughter to be seen to (at first our appointment was booked for 1.15pm & then changed to 11.30) so already I had to change my hours and shifts for work. We arrive and reception mentions doctors a wee bit behind today to which I responded βthatβs fineβ 30 minutes in I go up to reception and ask much longer itβs almost been 30minutes now without apologising and trying to figure out how much longer our doctor would be the receptionist I felt like ignored us and said βI did say it was going to be a waitβ We returned to the waiting room for another 30minutes itβs been an hour since weβve been waiting now. New receptionist behind the counter at this point I go up to her and ask if she knows how much longer as itβs now been a hour to again feel like we didnβt matter or receptionist just βdidnβt careβ - it took me mentioning to reception & walking out and for my daughter to then start crying to me because she wanted to see the doctor but as you can imagine mums now frustrated & upset. We returned to inside and told the doctor my daughter wants to see the doctor - after another 20minutes we were seen too and I was in tears inside the doctors room with my daughter. The doctor was very apologetic and even clarified that I shouldnβt have waited that long or that at the very least the receptionist(both ladies) should have or could have just reassured me or atleast shown an ounce of care. My daughters appointment was at 11.30pm we arrived 11.27pm we got into the doctors room at 12.40pm. Do better - that was not fair myself and my daughter had to wait and left feeling overwhelmed & frustrated. I do thank our doctor that seen us she did calm me down a lot. Thank you.

5 Stars β Outstanding Care and Service I canβt speak highly enough of New Brighton Medical Practice. I enrolled here during my 2 year stay in the country and my GP - Dr Alex Andrews - has been incredibly accommodating and supportive, especially given my long list of ongoing health problems. He always take the time to listen and ensure I feel heard and looked after. A special shout-out to Georgie, one of the nurses, who has been absolutely excellent. Sheβs kind, professional, and always made me feel at ease. Plus she always looks fabulous in her funky scrubs. And one of the ladies at the front desk (Andrea?) β always super friendly and welcoming, and it means so much that she remembers me by name every time I come in. Itβs rare to find a medical practice where every staff member goes above and beyond like this. Highly recommend to anyone looking for compassionate, professional care. Thank you for looking after me during my time in NZ.

My doctor saved my life when it came to listening and providing what I needed for my mental health. She is now on leave and has been replaced with a nice, thorough doctor. Receptionist always asks how much I want to pay which is nice to offer instead of having to ask. Website is great and makes it easy to order repeat prescriptions, requests are always fulfilled fast. Phone is sometimes difficult to get through to but has been improving recently. Plenty of parking and blood test lab on site is handy.

The doctors are top notch but the cold and patronizing attitude of a receptionist there is daunting when you are already feeling below par. I seeI am not alone in this belief. It has got to the point now where I am looking at other options, especially since my lovely Dr there, has now left to take up a post overseas.

I just recently found out that I'm pregnant and have been having a bit of bleeding that has made me really worried of why that is happening. The reception has told me that my doctor isn't available this week and that a nurse will ring me. When the nurse rung all she had to say was that the only option is to go to the 24 hours as it's free charge. I have been at this doctors since i was a kid and I have never been disappointed in these nurses and the they're lack of effort. I say if u show no care and interest towards your clients, dont work there at all.
