It was nice, but I would suggest if u are going to do anything in the area then stop to see the suspension bridge.

Great little detour, very interesting history. Timed it perfectly as the spillway was open so looked quite impressive. We explored the whole place and ended up walking to the end where the spillway channel and Waikato River join back up. Went at the perfect time where we only saw 7 other people on our whole walk. Would recommend to swing by if you are near the area

Such an awesome spot to check out! The bridge has amazing views over the gorge and the Waikato River definitely worth the stop if youβre in the area. Itβs a bit of a hidden gem and not too crowded, which makes it even better. The walk across can be a little wobbly but that just adds to the fun. Thereβs also a nice short track nearby and a cafΓ© close by for a coffee after. Great place for photos and a bit of adventure!

What a great little hidden gem. The walk is not too strenuous. The bridge itself was slightly tilting left and right but still stable enough to walk on. So if you are in the area go and have a look.

A great place to stop to break up a long rode trip. There are washrooms with parking just before. It is a short walk to the bridge. The bridge is very stable. I enjoyed looking at the power plant. The valley is gorgeous.

Great off the beaten track visit! Kids loved the views & the easy walk was just enough to break up a roadie! LOVE NZ β€οΈ

A beautiful place to visit on any day of the week with beautiful view of the river, bridge, rain forest and most importantly the hydro dam for which the Suspension bridge was constructed in 1925.

Great natural and historical sightseeing place! Less people are here could combine here with the famous blue spring very close to each other

We were on our way from Hamilton to Rotorua and this was a fun little pitstop to allow us to get out of the car and stretch our legs. It's a short walk down to the bridge from the parking lot. It's a beautiful view of the river from a really good vantage point. For those who are afraid of heights please know the bridge does sway when there are a lot of people on it. But it was well worth the stop.

A very intersting historical place to visit. During WW2 they camouflaged the Arapuni Power Station just in case Japanese invades NZ. You can see the Arapuni Power Station below the suspension bridge. The suspension bridge is just a short walk from the road (there are toilets there as well).
