Ki Māha is truly a world-class dining experience — as good as it gets! From the moment you arrive, the breathtaking ocean views set the scene for an unforgettable meal. The atmosphere is relaxed yet refined, perfectly capturing the spirit of Waiheke. The food is nothing short of exceptional — every dish bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. The seafood is some of the freshest and most perfectly cooked you’ll find anywhere, and the meats are tender, full of depth, and cooked to absolute perfection. It’s the kind of culinary experience that easily deserves a Michelin star. The staff are warm, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they do, which makes the whole experience even more special. Special shout to Tom and Brendon for their amazing hospitality. If you’re visiting Waiheke Island, Ki Māha is an absolute must — a perfect combination of incredible food, stunning views, and outstanding service.

Easily one of the busiest places on Waiheke Island on the weekend. Great atmosphere, nice and spacious but tables well spaced for privacy. Food was very delicious! Paired well with the recommended wine from the waiter too. My only critique on the food was the octopus was a little bit rubbery and tough, perhaps a bit more could be done in the prep to make it more tender. Other than that, enjoyed the experience. The Hennessey and dessert at the end topped off a great night

We opted for the "Trust the Chef" 3 course meal. It came with an assortment of starters, an entree, a main, and dessert. The staff were very attentive, explained each item as it was brought out, and offered blankets as it cooled off. The food was fabulous! One of us did not want fish so we ended up with different entrees... a king fish sashimi and a venison... both delicious. These were followed by a perfectly cooked grilled lamb steak. All finished off by a vanilla creme brulee. We would definitely go back. Total cost for 2 (including 3 cocktails and 2 coffees) was NZD 290.

A winter break on Waiheke started with a fabulous lunch at Ki Maha. We had the anchovies and wagyu croquettes to start followed by a sirloin w cafe de Paris butter and frites of course, lamb riccia and a divine tiramisu to finish. Wonderful food in a gorgeous setting right on the beach at Onetangi. And terrific service - special shoutout to Charlotte.

This is now one of my favorite restaurants, not only on Waiheke, but in New Zealand. Food was absolutely stunning, service was Michelin grade and the setting could not be much better. Dishes worth a mention are: Scallops - the best I have ever eaten Shashimi - the flavours were perfect Lamb Papadelle - simple but full of flavour with very tender slithers of lamb

Fantastic location and friendly service. Food was yummy, albeit on the smaller portion size, considering the price point.

Unfortunately the views and scenery didn’t make up for the poor food and service. The minimum amount we needed to order per person ($75) was ridiculous too, but at least if the food was good, we thought it would be worth it. We were seated in a great spot with magnificent views, but we probably should’ve just ordered a couple cocktails and watched the day to by, while taking some photos. Though do not order their “fresh” juice, it definitely wasn’t and obvious it wasn’t, I vaguely remember it being almost $7-8 for it. For entrées we had the prawn cocktail, which was nice and the sauces went well with the prawns, so not bad. The scallops were very underwhelming and you can see in the picture, we only got 3 small tasteless scallops for about $30! Entree didn’t blow us away, but the mains will surely be better. We waited… and waited and waited… with glasses of water and drinks empty & an hour later, we asked about our food… of course the waiter said our mains were on the way… not a great situation to have to wait an hour for our mains, but acceptable if the food is great, it wasn’t… We ordered the market fish, which was a snapper, not very tasty, but was cooked alright and definitely passable in most instances. The scampi king crab linguine will officially be the worst I’ve ever had! Sauce was tasteless & crab was probably frozen crab you can buy from your local supermarket. What a huge let down after waiting an hour for it and paying $46 for! We were on the island for a day trip and had many activities lined up, but because of the length of time spent waiting for our meals, it would’ve been better off coming here for few photos, grab a drink or just ordering mains.

A sophisticated dining experience for the staff of Nesuto Newhaven who were served for a change by a very attentive team instead of being the servers. The food was gastronomical, especially the lamb. The atmosphere was great, in spite of the rain. We will definitely be back and can highly recommend Ki Māha Restaurant. Be prepared to walk as there are only a few car parks on the side of the building.
