   Donated about 5 bags of items here, but was made to feel very unwelcome. I love supporting charities and especially St John as they do wonderful good in the community- however the staff here were so unfriendly and made me feel like I was a burden for donating! No hello, no thank you and a generally cold and miserable attitude. Sorry but the volunteers here should learn to treat people better. The store wouldn’t run without donations after all.

   Will not visit, shop, donate nor recommend. Will upload photos of my purchase later to prove this sharing is true. On the contrary, I had a very positive experience at St.Vinne about 3 minutes walk from here. Photos attached to prove I have had personal experiences visiting two different shops back to back. Spent 24 dollars at St.John Papanui and around 45 dollars at the other. I was going to buy another 2 stockings which was placed inside the bin with price tag-3 for $1. I took it out and check with the staffs. I told a lady that I picked these 2 stockings from the bing with price tag -3 for $1. She went to check with another staff at the back and came out offer $2 per pair. I re-stated the message I picked these 2 stockings from the bin with price tag, 3 for $1. She said "No". I said to her it is not my size. I wish to highlight the fact these two items were placed at the bin with the "wrong"price which managerial/senior staffs decided not adequate. It was not my wrong doings. One of the staffs was going to pack the heavy items with recycle shopping bag. And the lady who said "NO" asked another 2 junior staffs to change to a brown paper bag, and because of the weight of these 3 items. The bag split from the side after I carefully carried it with my 5 minute of walking to Vinnie's shop and back to where my residence (happy to take the photo if you prefer to see it). I was disappointed while I saw this lady treating me in the way hence, I stood there and stayed silent while my purchase was swapped to a packing which was not the way I felt being looked after-assuming the pricing confusion. I stayed silent with no reply after one of the ladies said "thank you" and walked away, before walking away, I heard the lady with short hair and glasses said "thank you"again. Assuming she was hoping that I presented my "gratitude" as they might be volunteer and feeling I supposed to show my appreciation of their kindess. Above were detailed as much as I possibly could, I am here to present my own true experiences and I stand my comments. It is very disappointing that the follow up message might somehow suggested that details could not be found from the other end.

   Easy parking, good supply of books and not too overcrowded. Helpful volunteers but in my opinion the clothing could be set out so much better and in clearly marked in sizes. It hasn't been open long so I'm sure it will get better.
