Shabby Travel Lodge is mouldy, dirty, and smells like an ashtray. Red and blue painted light bulbs, long black hairs in the dishbrush, stained mugs and watered down handsoap made for an uncomfortable stay. The complete absence of smoke alarms was also a shocker
Paid $175 for a studio room. Chose it because near the hospital. What a rip off. The property obviously being used for social housing. Couldnt see any other guests.Rooms very run down, sink extremely stained and broken. Extremely dated. Very noisey with thin external walls. Broken door.Good thing, nice clean sheets and towels. Would definitely not stay there again.
Not very nice, I would not have expected this for the price charge. Very much in need of restoration like new kitchen,kitchen,, maybe add a coffee table. Could also do with a paint job. Will definitely not go back here again.
Classic motel experience but had an overwhelming weird soapy smell in the room could not sleep there. Checkin / checkout experience stilted as office was mostly “closed”. Showers are strangely short. Redeeming quality is proximity to Waikato Hospital.
can't get through with either of the phone numbers or the email to inquire about bookings, that really needs to be fixed asap seeming as you can't make bookings on the site
Stayed here with my daughter after her surgery at Waikato Hospital, owner was lovely and accommodating, location excellent right by the hospital and shops/takeaways 2 minute walk up the road. Was a little noisy being right by the busy road but we werent too bothered, it was comfy, clean and relaxing after a long day at the hospital
The owner operator was amazing. So lovely and welcoming. Stayed here while mum was in hospital and the owner just made me feel so at ease amongst a horrible situation. Rooms were well taken care of. Absolutely recommend especially for the great service.
For my purposes perfect. Nice clean tidy unit. Maybe a little outdated. But while I was there, there were tradies (interior decorators) working on units. But the lovely manager/host, very accommodating, friendly, service with a smile. Great customer relations. I have no problem staying there again.
The unit is better than expected. This is like home away from home, it is so well equipped. The unit has obviously been refurbished. Very clean, tidy, and so handy to the hospital. Just bring earplugs if you're not used to traffic noise.
