   Stay at Colonial City Motel for surgery up from Taranaki. Tidy apartment for an older building. No reception, done at the hotel across the road. Would pay to have an accessible phone number for contact after hours as we had a bad night with a large group in the above apartment drinking, loud talking, and music. They didn't read that parties were not permitted. Other than that it is easy walkable access to central Hamilton. Road is busy at peak hours.

   Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! I was a little unsure based on some of the reviews I had read but was pleasantly surprised. we stayed in the two bedroom unit, which catered our needs perfectly. Clean, modern, comfortable and the host was very helpful. Will definitely stay here again on our next travels

   Place has been extensively renovated. Repainted, new flooring, new bathroom and kitchen fixtures. Double glazing on the windows. Key card lock. Plenty of hooks, rails and shelving in the bathroom. Good lighting, good wifi, great shower. Handy, walkable location. Only drawback was too much light getting through the curtains.

   There was no wi fi in unit No.8. There wasn't a Directory listing local amenities, where to eat etc. The hair dryer in the bathroom still had black hair in it. There was an empty wine bottle in one of the cupboards. The majority of tea bags were Earl Grey and only a couple of ordinary tea bags which were not topped up. Clean towles were supplied every day. The unit was a good size and the bed very comfortable. We would stay there again as it is very handy to everything. Jacquie Benner

   This Motel has character in spades and the outside facade is very beautiful, the owners have let the outside landscaping go to shambles and certainly needs a tad bit of love to fix that. The rooms are well maintain for an Emergency housing Motel few stains on carpets slight ants problem but everything else seems tip top shape for a motel from its era

   Was going to stay but chose not to! Was dark and dingy not inviting Smelt like cigarettes and weed. I feel like homeless people where staying there. It's a minefield to get around not easy access at all. Gang members where lingering around. And an indian lady was walking around staring at me as i left stood by the car door making me feel uncomfortable would rather stay in my car then there! Did not feel safe at all! 0/10

   Not the owners fault, but boy oh boy was there some noise coming through from guests on floor above until 3.30am..walk in shower probably needs maintenance as floor slopeing down near plug. Not good for shower stool as requested but didnt have one. Bed was clean and comfy. The room needs maintenance walls etc.

   Athough this Motel is an older one it has everything that anyone would need. We personally felt very much at home. An added plus was the shelf in the bathroom (somewhere to put your personal items on), also in the kitchen a shelf to put things on. Nice warm motel, very handy to Hospital and such a bonus to have a shuttle service running from Motel to Hospital and return several times a day. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Also highly recommend the home cooked meals - very reasonably priced and very tasty!
