Extremely friendly service. Had dinner there with the family and kids, was super chill and the service from the bar was excellent. Will definitely come again next time we are in Christchurch. Get the beef tataki!
Great pub grub, a lot better then other establishments in the area & very reasonably priced, Great raffles - Peter timbs meat packs - Quality ! Great atmosphere , went here after my father passed away, introduced a lot of people here and it’s there new local!
Awesome little pub. My partner and I were visiting Christchurch with our toddler and wanted to go out for a drink and chips in a chill environment and it was perfect. The staff were all super friendly.
Booked for a large group asked for a table with wheel chair access and was put in the back corner, however they did change when I asked to move and they were more than happy to do so. Had to go find our own menus. Food was over cooked and just not great. Won't be back for for food but would go back for couple of drinks.
Clean. Nice aosphere. Helpful staff. The Shameless Two were entertaining. Enough room for dancing. We only had drinks. Bar food was available. This venue is wheelchair accessible.
This is an older style community pub. It has a TAB, etc., and a restaurant. Appeared very clean and had friendly bar staff. I didn't get a chance to get a meal as the chef had called in ill, and they are struggling for staff (as many places are), so I couldn't hold that against them. To their credit, the bar staff informed us immediately when we arrived that the chef was off. They have a pub social club and appear well connected in the community. The pub caters to a mixed demographic. It's clearly a favourite with locals and a classic local pub, but probably not really my scene.
Wonderful birthday bus trip and the music and bar service was exemplary. Thanks so much for the incredible band that played live music from the 60s and 70s True musicians ...the lead guitarist..amazing AZ was the drummer and base...
Went to the Rose and Thistle for a wintery Saturday lunch. It was cosy and warm inside and we enjoyed our meal. Price was reasonable, service was good. It’s definitely a pub that serves meals, but it was enjoyable.
Great place to grab a feed and beer. Steak special they had on for $14.50 was fantastic, steak was very tender and cooked to perfection (not overdone). Good serving sizes. Staff were efficient and friendly. Will certainly visit again next time in Christchurch.
