   An incredible dinner. They were very welcoming and great hosts. I got a tuti fruit as a drink and it was amazing. Entree and main dinner was 58 dollars. Considering the taste and the amount, it was totally worth it.

   I had an amazing experience at Dux Dine. I ordered the seafood chowder, fish & chips, and a flat white. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the staff were incredibly friendly. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients—everything was delicious. The seafood chowder, in particular, was the best I’ve had in New Zealand. Highly recommend!

   We had a really enjoyable dinner at Dux Dine. We ordered a variety of seafood dishes, and everything was fresh, well-cooked, and beautifully presented. You can tell they take care in sourcing quality ingredients and preparing them with attention to detail. The service was friendly throughout the night, and the indoor setting was warm and inviting. It’s a lovely place for a relaxed dinner or a special outing.

   It's a bit unfortunate that the fantastic food was let down by the service. We ordered drinks and then food. A while later, an entree and a main arrived but no drinks. (The main was one of two ordered, the same. Why couldn't they bring two?) The other 3 mains took another 30 minutes. The drinks finally arrived but one was the wrong drink. The food was top notch and well worth the inconvenience. Perhaps a staff member called in sick last minute but they didn't seem rushed. If I lived here I would probably give them another chance to prove themselves.

   Food was of good portion and nice flavor! The salmon salad was huge and the vegetables were very fresh. Egg Benedict was made well and the sauce was legitimate. Only the French toast was too sweet and the breads were not very crispy. Perhaps the syrup was added too much. Otherwise, good taste, good service. Will come back again.

   My family has eaten here a couple of times. We feel like the food is a bit of mixed quality; some things we like a lot and some we don’t. Most importantly for us, our preschool-age son gets excited about pizza, but doesn’t eat much because it doesn’t taste very good (and I agree). However, he LOVES the toy box, which makes getting through dinner much easier.

   Dux Dine is true Lux Dinning hidden in beautiful, old garden villa of Riccarton. Very unique combination of exquisite seafood and vegetarian food in nice relaxed atmosphere. Food is delicious, portions just right. Being vegans, we have been regularly coming there for the past few years,as there is always something for us to chose from and it only gets better. Popcorn cauliflower is one of the best in town, but crispy tofu salad is also delicious. I miss vegan curry hope it’s coming back soon. Vegan parafit was light and tasty not sweet at all, worth trying to close the evening. Overall it would have been perfect experience, except the service. I don’t know what is so hard to find motivated and customer friendly servers nowadays and it shouldn’t be a big ask. Server was rude and not in mood to be there at all. Luckily at later part of evening she was replaced by someone else and it was a game changer. We will be back !
