Nice place to spend with your family. * Waterfall and the stream is very beautiful.. * Safe to have a bath for children..not deep * Carry a bag, drinking water, Snacks ( no waste bins available at the premises ) * Swimming dress * suggest to go in a sunny day as the paths will be too muddy during the rain * It is a private property..So please respect. * Free entry

Walk takes 20 mins or so starting off with a swing brigde track can but muddy and in areas steep and narrow so if have kids keep this in mind but beautiful trees and stream following all the way when get to the waterfall you have to cross to another swing bridge then to get down to waterfall there is a rope to help it's only few steps and then cross shallow stream careful it is rocky but water is nice and clear cool waterfall and small waterhole with area you can sit and watch either by the stream or back on the track during different times of the year and weather conditions the flow of the water and area will be different worth the trip would come back again

Saturday visit- first time here. Be mindful as you are going on private property on arriving. Otherwise the nature walk through the track is enjoyable, both bridges add a sense of adventure which is fun for kids. Don't necessarily have to walk the whole track as you will be able to stop off at certain parts to enjoy the stream plus the area at the waterfall can get quite full and overwhelming for some although a pleasant space you do need to use the rope to get down from track. Additionally the owners seem to keep the track and bridges maintained so respect of the area is common sense.

Perfect for a family stroll along the stream, and picnic at the waterfall. Kids (and grown-ups) will like it! Beautiful bush and fossils can be found along the river. Waterfall is best after rain. Track is flat but the two suspension bridges and two fences are an obstacle for strollers.

About 15-20 min walk to the water falls ! Fairly easy tracks but wouldn’t recommend a pram. Family friendly. The last section of the hike, you need to climb down with a rope but it’s easy.

This is a beautiful walk, I went on this hike with a school camp & it was so exilerating with the most beautiful scenery. There is a picnic table at the end of the walk, so be sure to take food to enjoy at the end.

Small little car park at the end of Karakariki valley rd, then walk through the cow run to the start point at the fence and signs. It's a nice easy walk starts off with walking over suspension bridge then along side the stream/river then you'll come to the 2nd fence that you'll need to climb over not long before getting to the 2nd and last suspension bridge just before getting to the waterfall itself. Water is nice and cold for swim on a hot day.

Nice track into the site. Track includes crossing the stream in two places using swing bridges. A number of stiles to pass fences. Some trip hazards and slippery sections. Need to have confidence and good balance to make the walk. Well worth the walk in through bush most of the way. Nice pool for kids to swim in at the falls. Final climb down from the track to the falls requires using a rope.

Not that impressive. the walk out is a nice walk. Though I strongly suggest not doing it after rain as the mud, puddles and slippery tracks make it a less enjoyable walk. There are some fun bridges, but the waterfall itself isn't that impressive.

Good and easy walking tracks for children. The track starts from the car park and began with a small suspended walking bridge, fun for kids to cross. This way leads to the waterfall and it is easy accessible. We took another route and went all the way uphill. It was not too hot, neither cold, comfortable to walk for 2 hours. There was only one table for picnic closer to the waterfall, which takes around 10min from the car park. We actually went there to find small samples of fossils, but didn’t find any. Will try next time.
