Beautiful place to visit. Nice outdoor walk, native trees, loved feeding the ducks and enjoying the nature walk.

I liked it. It really gives an idea of what this whole area looked like before it was cleared for farmland. The plants and lakeside blend in with the sky. So beautiful.
Good place to run, walk, stroll. Excellent example of an ecosystem regeneration project. Lots of birds and the recent plantings are growing well.
Extensive plantings, helpful year-planted signs, 26 species of birds, uncommon species being dabchick and grey teal, and handy decks overlooking Waiwhakareke (Horseshoe Lake)
#Waiwhakareke reserve. If you ride an e-bike, bring your charger you can plug it in to charge as there is a power point at the bike stand (see photo with my bike in). Access gates are well done for easy access of mobility scooters etc.
