Beautiful bushwalk in the mountains on a maintained track. You'll cross streams and see a cascading waterfall.

Easy, short trail for beginners. You can use a bike or pushchair for the majority of the walk. Just the last 5mins has a few steps so you'd need to walk/carry baby from there. Lovely little pool and waterfall at the end.

Nice place to visit… Always Quiet. Good hiking experience, cool waterfalls. Birds chirping, and a good place to relax and think

Did the full trail starting from the Huntly end and it's definitely longer than the 12kms that the signs say. In fact my GPS watch put it at just under 17kms. The first part of the trail is certainly challenging and good fitness is a must. We did it the day after rain and even though it was summer still very muddy in places. The tree roots presented their own challenge being quite slippery but loved it. The second half from the observation tower down was a stroll in the park after the first half

Lots of steps but the view is worth it.

The 12km sign from Waignaro Rd to Parker Rd might be correct in a straight line!! Great walk though. Beautiful bush and views.

A nice tranquil walk through a trail and bush, surrounded by birds. There are toilets a half hour walk from start but bring hand sanitizer as bow place to wash hands. A pleasant place to bring the family to see the cascade falls and have a picnic on the tables provided. There is a bike rack to secure your bike as no bikes on hiking track to the summit.

The start of the trails follows the old Glen Massey railway line and runs for about 1.5 km. At the end of this bit is a picnic area and toilet. The rail walk is flat and mostly gravel or grass. Easy to bike and there is a bike stand at the picnic area. After the picnic area the old rail line is overgrown and not accessible, but when it was active is use to run through to into Glen Massey, however was closed in 1954. There has been some talk about extending the trail further along the old railway but as of Sep 2020 there's been no further progress. From the picnic area the trail stops following the old railway line and starts heading up to the the ridgeline of the Hakarimatas. A little way along you'll find Cascade waterfall. You can climb up some of the waterfall to another few waterfall steps up the river. If you continue up to the ridge it'll take about 2 hours along the Hakarimata ridgeline to the summit. A warning though, this is a tough walk with a lot of stair climbing. If you're not fit, or an experienced hiker I wouldn't recommend it.
