It was my first time visiting. I went there for a company work do, and it was alright—quite a few people had recommended it to me. I could tell this place is very popular; even on a Monday morning, it was packed with people right after they opened.
Haven't been here in a very long time. I went in with no booking sometime before 10am and the concierge managed to find me a space. Already I can see the place is buzzing. If you got a larger group, consider booking ahead as they get pretty busy. My latte came first, then my extremely satisfied farmers breakfast. I won't need lunch and it will do me until dinner. Very filling. My server brought me some toast with butter and jam to accompany my breakfast and OMG, it was so good. Will definitely come back.
Old-school breakfast done tidy: pancakes puff high with real maple, corned-beef hash crisps at the edges, and eggs over easy land perfect. Filter coffee refills keep coming. Portions are American big, but plate balance fine. Service friendly, no fake. Arrive early weekends; the queue snake by 10 and booths vanish.
We came in at 7:30, waited to be seated. All nice until our first serving arrived but we waited for a whole 15 mins with no other dishes? We even saw the chef cleaning the kitchen without making our order. Took us 3 TIMES asking about our order to actually get our food. And one portion of waffle was missing too! TOOK US ANOTHER TIME ASKING FOR OUR FOOD? The restaurant wasn’t even remotely crowded at that time? And we didn’t even receive any sorry! Very questionable and disappointing service!
Best breakfast we had in NZ. Everything was great but the pancakes and waffles were exceptional. They tasted similar to the USA breakfast. Love this place. Definitely make a booking so you don't miss out! Servers were attentive and very friendly.
Drexel's is an old favourite of ours. It caters for the family so it was great having our two young grandchildren with us. It has a relaxed atmosphere and very tasty food. At first the service was a bit slow but then it picked up and we felt well- looked after.
I have come to Drexel's for family breakfasts ever since I was little. Now that I'm first year polytech, I still love coming with my loved ones. The pricing is reasonable and it's really easy to build a meal. I got an almond milk hot chocolate, and one piece of French toast with a side of a hash brown which were lovely and would definitely recommend. It was easy and efficient to book online, so would DEFINITELY recommend booking ahead. I've always had great experiences coming to Drexel's and cannot wait to come again in the future. Very popular place and food that is just great. Had the omelet and egg and toast for my daughter. Food was very filling and delicious.
Best breakfast since 1986. They lose 1 star for the change in their french toast, however food is glorious and always a treat to visit (live out of chch now). Still exceptional value.
