   Went into the store yesterday and got ignored completely by all of the girls on the shop floor. I was the only customer yet these four girls were having a good old gossip session among one another. It wasn’t until later I moved closer to the counter to look at another pair of shoes and someone at the counter asked if I needed help, but by then I was disappointed.. and feeling a little hurt. All of a sudden more girls walked into the store and the sales girls swarmed to this group of women, yet still ignored me. They made efforts to offer every other person help, including two elderly ladies who walked in. I think this store is racist because my only observation was - I was the only brown one among the rest. Another reason I probably got overlooked - I was dressed in outside working clothes which is stupid. God forbid I stop into the base to pick some things up from mitre 10, then remember I needed a pair of summer sandals, and a pair of formal shoes. It made sense to get shoes in te awa instead of doubling back. If these girls had of given me the same attention they offered everyone else, I would have left that store with two pairs of new shoes. Your customer service if that’s what you would call it, I’ll sum it up with one word: appaling.

   I stopped shopping at The base store, because the service wasn't good. But my husband and I went in on Saturday and we were so surprised with the service that we got. New manager and Ange, is a breath of fresh air and a total super star! Thanks Ange we will be back.

   Used to be my go-to place for shoes. Tried to go in today and got completely ignored by the sales staff. When they did eventually interact they were dismissive and offered basically no assistance at all. Might be just the staff of the day.

   I was in this store today. The retail assistant tried to talk me into a pair of shoes I was clearly not interested in. She said she had to go and would pass me over to another assistant who just ignored me. There was no one else in the store. Shocking service. Will never go back.
