   We were seated promptly and given food and drink menus. Both of us opted for the beef fillet, one rare and the other medium rare. They were done to perfection, melted in your mouth and were tasty. The accompanying vegetables were also first rate. There was a good wine list , although not all were available by the glass. My glass of Cabernet Sauvignon was a standout. We thought the atmosphere and service were great and would we would return here to eat.

   Last night we celebrated a double birthday at Chillingworth Road. Chose Chillingworth Road, curious as to whether it could really match up to its very high customer review rating, which I was searching restaurants for. Our meal, the service and the ambiance were outstanding! The beautiful personal birthday touches, added special celebration to the event! Both the 14 month aged beef, and the salmon plate, were totally delectable, and beautifully presented. I can say this was the most superbly cooked meat cut I've enjoyed in a very long time. And the accompanying vegetable flavours and textures, perfect. Good portion size, good value. Desserts also tops! Thankyou Chillingworth Road!

   Atmosphere was amazingly peaceful. The service was incredible and so was the food. A lovely meal out overall. Music was lovely although I did go with my great Aunt who is hard of hearing so it was a touch loud for her.

   The dining space at the back was fancy and perfect for a romantic night out/ special occasion. We had 9 course degustation menu. Overall good experience, with nicely presented food and friendly service. The portion of each course was rather small but with 9 courses it’s more than enough for us to feel satisfied. We enjoyed the salmon, lamb and desserts. We also found that the wine selection was a bit limited.

   I had done a little bit of research of nice places to eat around Christchurch for my short visit and for my final night I chose Chillingworth Road, they did not disappoint. Only a short car, or in my case bus ride out of the CBD (I like to travel on PT in new cities) had me at the door to Chillingworth Road a few minutes before my reservation. A warm welcome and I was whisked off to the curtained off dining room, given an explanation of the menu (I was having the degustation) and I was left with the drinks menu, I chose not to have wine pairing given I had an early start the next morning, but would likely go for it on future visits. What followed was a delightful 2 hours of attentive service, delicious food and a couple of lovely wines. There was not anything I would fault and I left completely satisfied.
