   My partner and I are regulars and decided to get Chinese for dinner, went here they are normally so good BUT this time was different, we got large trays and there was plenty of room left in the tray yet the lady that served me took food out of one of the trays to put an egg too young in that she completely forgot to put in and then gave me not much sweet sour pork (when I say not much I mean I got like 4 small pieces after she had taken some out). So overall for both of our trays they were barley filled and for $17 I thought I would get more as I normally do. With my partners tray I asked for some rice but I said a little bit to cover the bottom of the tray and barley got half a spoon full of the rice.

   Pretty good but not up to usual standard, hardly any sauce on the s&s pork or lemon. Chicken. Husband's beef blk bean.mostly hunks of watery cabbage in sauce. If I lived in Kaiapoi I probably would have taken it back. Unusual as has always been a great place to go when in a hurry home late,

   Lovely food including Chinese specialty meals, and the good old fish and chips. You can order set meals, or have a meal made up from the cabinets on the spot. Unless you order by phone, be prepared for a wait, as phone orders seem to take priority. ( I didn't phone in my order and waited close to thirty minutes for my order.) When it came, though, the food was excellent and authentic with some of the best, meatiest, wonton I have had at any Chinese restaurant. I recommend this restaurant, but I also recommend that you order first by phone.

   We've been coming to Kaikanui Chinese Restaurant for over 20 years. Fantastic food and a great selection too. We had Sweet n sour pork, pan fried dumplings and chips. And they deliver outside of Kaiapoi. A++++
