We needed a rice fix after weeks of potatoes, and decided to pop into a random Indian without too much pomp, we hit the jackpot with this place. Food was prepared to our taste and they even made a dish not on the menu. Excellent food and service, could not have asked for anything more.

Arjee Bhajee offers a vibrant twist on traditional Indian cuisine with bold flavors and creative dishes. The service is warm and welcoming, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. A must-visit for lovers of modern Indian fare in a cozy setting. Look for Chef Krishna he can customise as per your Taste buds

I had a Butter chicken combo to take away. Chose the mild option and it was just the right amount of spices! Delicious!

I was really really pleased with the quality of the meals and the excellent service at this little side street restaurant on Riccarton Road. We began with bhajee, which was light, soft, and served as an excellent appetiser. The freshness was apparent, and the portion size was generous, comfortably enough for three people. The presentation was appealing and added to the overall positive impression. Next, the lamb seekh kebab was beautifully presented and extremely tender, pulling apart effortlessly. The flavours were enjoyable and the medium spice was perfect for a wee bit of a kick. A highlight of the evening was the lamb vindaloo. The spice was well-absorbed into the lamb, which was firm yet tender. The vibrant colours and earthy flavours made this dish feel hearty and authentic. For a lighter contrast, the chicken saag delivered a smooth and clean flavour. The chicken was wonderfully tender, practically falling apart, and the dishβs subtler colour allowed the flavours to shine without being visually overwhelming. The garlic naan was another success, with a soft, chewy texture that paired perfectly with the mains, serving as an excellent accompaniment to the sauces. The beer was served in particularly excellent mugs, adding a touch of quality to the dining experience. The restaurant itself exudes a comfortable, home-like atmosphere, though the decor could benefit from some enhancement. Service was attentive, with plates promptly cleared after each course. Additionally, the kitchenware, glasses, and silverware were all clean and suited the environment appropriately. Arjee Bhajee offers a solid dining experience, particularly if you enjoy lamb dishes. However, be prepared for some dishes to be priced on the higher side, though it might be fitting for the excellent quality of the dishes. Nevertheless, it is a place worth considering for a relaxed evening with quality food.

The chicken saag (medium) was super yummy. My son had the butter chicken (hot). Both meals were delightfully spiced. Quite a bit hotter than some Indian restaurants. Best find of the night was the Arjee Bhajee special chicken naan - superb!!!!

Ordered butter chicken and garlic naan takeaway. Once ordered sat and waited there seemed to be a lot of commotion going on in the kitchen and what sounded like arguing between chefs and front of house lady, donβt know what the deal there was but that marks down the atmosphere. Anyway butter chicken was really bland, no spices not talking about chilli although I ordered medium no heat whatsoever, chicken was chunky and weird tasting not a hint of tandoori. Garlic naan ok just. Sorry but that was bad would not recommend on that.

Top notch hospitality Every good item was as delicious as it gets, some of the items were prepared out of menu as per the request. Very nice and quick service. I'd love to visit and try other items too.

Overwhelming of cloves to taste. The rice was to oily for me. The potion of lamb was disappointing and was a little though. The Nan was still doughy and garlic did not fuse into dough.

Had an amazingly quick, dinner experience here at Arjee Bhajee. We we were running short of time and had to get a bite real quick before our movie and their FOH staff was so remarkable and kind,he arranged everything for us perfectly that left us extremely satisfied. We were there on Good Friday where most of the Indian restaurants were closed/closing due to less customers, but these guys were kind enough to keep it open and serve food when we needed it the most. Really appreciate it. We had the gorgeous lamb Rogan Josh and Butter Chicken ,they were soooo delicious and also their naan was just exceptional. Would definitely come back for more when we are in town the next time. Thanks a lot !
