Having not Dined at a Lonestar for quite a number of years we thought we would give it another chance. Sadly we will not be returning, not because of the service or ambience but because of the food. All of those in our party did not enjoy their food, the squid was rubbery and tasteless, the shrimp were much the same, while the ribs sounded appertising with a yummy sauce they were also disappointing. The highlight of our food was the kumara chips which were the frozen generic brand from the supermarket. All the best with getting some flavour into your meals.

We ordered the Dixie chicken, a burrito and a side of crunchy cauliflower. The cauliflower wasn’t really our thing, but the rest of our meal was flawless. The poached chicken was tender, juicy and packed full of flavour. Adrian was our waiter for the evening, he was very pleasant, cheerful and humorous. He did a great job. Looking forward to our next visit.

Great place for a family meal. Large busy restaurant, great friendly service and meal options large. Desserts were huge and could be shared. They allowed a previous Bariatric person to order a kids meal which was very kind of them. More restaurants should offer this service.

Woah...portions are BIG....ribs were really nice and if you are not too hungry, maybe a starter portion is sufficient. their burger was also super, and beer to go with it. all good. Just be careful though if u are ordering sides, be clear what you ordered and how much extra it will cost. I ordered a side I thought came with the main course and ended up paying close to $10 for the side.

Friendly welcome, eager to please staff, love the buzzer system on the table to let the staff know when you're ready to order or if you want to catch our waitresses attention. Food was beautifully presented, huge servings, delicious too. Got a single serving of dessert to take away while h was also tasty.

Really busy, and my meal was not as great as on previous visits to other locations, but maybe it was just a one-off? GRAN TURNED 91 years young and the staff went the extra step and brought her out a desert and a candle. She was happy as Larry and loved her food. What more could one want?

Lone star was pretty mediocre. It was an okay experience for 1 time, but, I would not likely come back. The best thing was the bread they gave us. The rest of the meals were quite pricey, bit didn't really seem to hold up on the quality. The service was quite lacking and we ran out of water constantly. The whole place was pretty empty even during lunch time which maybe should have been a sign. The place is clean and looks nice. I just feel that overall there wasn't anything that stood out. It's just... Okay.

The drinks were decent. Typical bar cocktails. The service was good, there's a little button you can press if you need anything. I ordered my steak without onions but unfortunately it came over cooked and heaped in sweet onions. The ribs were really the biggest let down. They were pretty fatty and hard to get the meat from the bone. I can see the appeal of having to chew on them, but they're definitely not for me. It might not have felt so bad if it wasn't so expensive.
