I usually do not right negative reviews! But I think a=I am obliged to to let others know. Spoke to the receptionist (Cour***y), who was outright rude to me and instead of providing actual assistance was talking over me. This place is also not affiliated with any insurance provider other than Southern Cross and I was rudely told as a patient I am fully responsible for liaising between my GP, them and insurance. So many other medical places even though not affiliated with my insurance provider would handle this for their patient....Honestly I would've still liaised and handled this myself if not for the rude treatment I received from the receptionist. They talk about customer care yet the very first interactions leaves a sour taste in your mouth. Good luck. Also poor rating on reviews on this reflects this anyways.

Found the staff to be really helpful and caring. Eliza was amazing - calling to check on my progress every week, helping me find the right mask and adjusting machine pressure to suit me. Really appreciated her help and advice.

Front desk service let down an otherwise good experience I’ve visited NZRSI twice and, while the specialist and psychiatrist were professional, the front desk administration was consistently disappointing. On my first visit, I arrived 20 minutes early but waited 30 minutes past my appointment time. When I asked, the receptionist seemed unsure and checked the schedule before saying, “Sorry, you’ll be seen soon.” About another 10 minutes wait, the nurse finally called me for a routine check before I saw the specialist. On my second visit, it seems I was the first patient of the day and yet still waited 20 minutes. After asking the receptionist, she left briefly and returned with an apology. I asked if another patient overran, and she avoided the question. I finally saw the psychiatrist after waiting 30+ minutes in total. To add to the frustration, the front desk informed me that I was fully covered by insurance and had nothing to pay. Two weeks later, I received a call from them stating that my claim was declined, followed by an invoice requesting payment within seven days. After contacting my insurer, I was informed that NZRSI had cancelled both the appointment along with prior approval. When I called NZRSI back, they were unsure why this happened but assured me again that I didn’t need to pay. While the staff may sound polite, their lack of professionalism and coordination caused unnecessary delays and confusion and wasted my time. This level of service clearly needs improvement.

Had a trial CPAP machine but it seems hit-and-miss with the staff as to how helpful they will be. I haven't got to the stage of having the machine work well for me but they say the only option now is to buy a machine and try options - spending well over $2k in the hope it will work with the next set of changes doesn't interest me. UPDATE: the senior sleep specialist contacted me and extended the trial with two new masks. I suspect the person who called me was a receptionist working through a script. When you get the right person it works!

These guys are great at diagnosing the issue but are fairly unhelpful in directly helping with solutions. The service (sleep study) was carried out excellent- they even set you up to do it from home. However, once diagnosed with sleep apnea- they send you on your way with ideas- “maybe tie a stocking around yourself with a tennis ball in it to help not sleep on your back?” Does this clinic sell CPAP machines? -No Do they sell products to help you not sleep on your back? No Ok, we’ll do they at least recommend third party products to help you not sleep on your back- can they link you to such a product? No Okay well do they sell mouth guards that they are recommending I try ? No Do they offer surgery ? No I have side effects using the CPAP machine of bloating- can they help with strategies to minimise this ? No So overall they were great at diagnosing me -in fact superb But it stops there 3/5 from me

Some staff were really nice, others weren’t. Made it clear they had a massive workload that they couldn’t handle. Suppose that’s every industry.

I was referred to Dr Jeffrey Garret by my GP. I had an absolutely awesome experience with him, he was very professional, thorough and great to speak with. Could not rate his service higher. However, I didn’t receive an email with his diagnosis from the receptionist. I called reception to ask politely whether this was ready and was dealt with by a female receptionist that was incredibly rude. She continuously made it out that it was my error and not theirs. She came across very arrogant and seemed like she couldn’t wait to get off the phone with me. I was told that a referral had been made to an imaging company and I would hear from them to make an appointment. I called back about a week later as I still had not heard from the imaging people. I was spoken to by the same receptionist who again made it out that there could be no error on their end and it must be my mistake. She again was arrogant, rude and pushy to try get me off the phone. I remained polite despite this, but this sort of service is shocking from a specialist that cost me $520 for 30 minutes. Again, the Dr was of the best class and I could not rate his service higher. This company needs to address the issue with their receptionist, as I can see this is a problem not solely experienced by me.

Good professional service from the doctor but one of the recptioists I came across was very arrogant and counslt care less. I suppose they have the monopoly of what they do. The receptionist sat by the window had no smiles at all and appeared that she couldnt wait till the day ends. No smiles and made me feel that I am a bk other to her by asking questions. This was 7pm in a evening, close to end of their 8pm shift. If they are charging thousands of $$$ for their services, whether you have Medical insurance or not, it is expected that they also deliver the exceptional services the moment customers walked in. On this occasion, the service I recieved at the front desk was below par and worse than the service I recieved at BP station across the road the same evening. Not worth the money they charge you for. Better off buying a Snore guard from Chemist Warehouse or online. I just got the feeling they are more interested in charging me lots of $$ than providing really good service. I guess they can as they have some sort of monopoly. I visited a good varieties of Specialist services all over Auckland so I have something to compare in terms of values for money.

Had my first referral appointment from my Specialist. Found the staff to be Friendly and compassionate. Booked for follow up appointments so waiting on a diagnosis. Found parking just inside the racecourse. 2min walk from where I parked the car although I saw a little too late that parking is available below building C/D. This is located under the first building as you enter the gate
