   I took a train from Auckland to visit this small town today, and decided to try this restaurant because of its high ratings. Unfortunately, the actual experience was quite disappointing. First of all, the prices are very high. The food shown in the photo plus a small mango dessert cost over NZD 60 in total. Secondly, the restaurant’s most popular brisket (NZD 30) was very tough and not flavorful. I could only eat it by pairing it with the pickles on the side. When I ran out of pickles, I asked the staff if I could have just a tiny bit more—I even emphasized that I only needed a very small amount to finish the last pieces of meat. She did not tell me there would be an extra charge, and brought me a small ice-cream–cup–sized portion. At checkout I found out that the few extra pickles cost NZD 5.25. I honestly feel that with this quality and pricing, it would be very difficult for the restaurant to survive in any busy area of Auckland. This experience definitely affected our overall impression of the town. That said, to be fair, the mango dessert was genuinely quite good. Overall, it was a rather disappointing visit.

   Good variety of meats and sides, great choice to enjoy some sharing platters with large groups - you can see the industrial smoker in the kitchen from the dining tables Quite pricey but it's okay once in a while! Highlight was probably the beef cheeks, will need to try the ribs next time~ Everything else was just average for us: Pork belly, mac n cheese, cucumbers, duck friedrice and fried chicken wings

   We drive past this place almost on a daily and finally had a chance to visit tonight. My wife and I had the most amazing evening at Blue Ox Babe Pukekohe. From the moment we walked in, the staff were exceptional hosts and welcoming. The food was pure magic!! Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. Thank you Blue Ox Babe.

   Having the opportunity to confirm a recommendation from a close relative is always an experience and a joy for the taste buds and mind. As soon as we approached the entrance the aroma was incredible with a need to explore more. Entering the establishment, with the welcoming hello was a real positive start that carried on for the entire night. A hands on guide through the numours opportunities on a enticing mouth watering menu selection was definitely a eye opener. Once our choices were made finally (Sorry) was given the opportunity to see the smoker from the counter which again exceeded my expectations and furthered the experience. All our platters, burgers and dishes were a work of art, and totally new to our taste buds. The experience was incredible. All the staff had a real customer service focus and the venue was incredible with a relaxing enjoyable vibe. Thank you for this opportunity and experience. Can't wait for our next visit..

   Came in early on a Saturday Evening. 445pm. Service was great and staff were doing their job well. It was such a shame that the BBQ Sharing platter for 4 that we ordered was immensely disappointing. Please see the photos attached. Brisket was dry and pebbly, and a huge chunk of all of the slices was connective tissue that was chewy and fatty. The macaroni and cheese was grainy in texture and a bit bland. The sausage was really chewy and pebbly, reminded me of a dry roast chicken stuffing. Pork belly was alright. Ribs were alright. No hot sauces or bbq sauces given, which could have helped. The platter was generally super dry. In the end we paid 180 for that platter. Tremendously disappointing. Super disappointing considering we were almost the first customers of the dinner service. I hope we were just unlucky.

   look like good place until you seat, food was average, if you take out the smoked brisket, the rest of the food is really no flavor, service it's just ok, no good enough, I guess is just a good place to drink, food wasn't on top of my list

   The best dishes were the papaya salad, pork noodle Tom yum, and beef brisket. Service was great especially from the head chef "Nuum" came out to serve us because the waitresses were busy. Highly recommended!

   We had a great dining experience here last night. The service was fantastic, our waitress was super friendly and knowledgeable. The Thai chef made the most authentic Thai Papaya salad that was reminiscent of Bangkok street food, we had to order a second serving. A huge compliment to the chef and staff who were so attentive.
