   All I can say is WOW. After reading reviews we were to excited to try Captain Kerrs after a day at the beach. And they did not disappoint. We ordered fish, both crumbed and battered, squid rings, potato fritters, a crab stick, and chips. Reviews are in - captain kerrs is the number one spot. Squid rings have a notable mention, as well as the fish that was so fresh and delicious. The batter was light, crunchy, and not too greasy. But the star of the show - POTATO FRITTERS. this is why I order potato fritters. Because every now and then, someone does it so right. Light and fluffy potato - crispy even batter, perfect flavour and great amount of salt. The chips were just ok - but everything else shone through and carried them. And you can get great chips anywhere. Definitely give them a try, yum yum yum

   About two weeks ago, my nephew Alex took us to one of the stunning beaches near Auckland, following a thoroughly enjoyable visit to Sheepworld in Warkworth. We arrived at Orewa on a beautiful, sunny winter afternoon. Alex suggested we have fish and chips for lunch, to be enjoyed at one of the thoughtfully placed wooden benches and tables along the beachfront. After settling us on the beach, he returned with mouth-watering plates of battered fresh snapper ($8.25 per plate) and a scoop of chips ($3.30). The fish was perfectly fried — crisp, golden, and not at all greasy — and served with a wedge of lemon for garnish. The chips were equally delicious, nicely salted and cooked just right. Captain Kerr’s also offers ice cream, though we weren’t in the mood for it that day. Conveniently, there is free parking available just across from Captain Kerr’s. It was a wonderfully warm and satisfying lunch on a crisp winter afternoon at a picturesque beach — a delightful start to our visit to New Zealand.

   I live here for 5 years and I have their fish and chip almost every fortnight. The fish is the standout here; one bite will leave you wanting more. The fish is fresh and crispy outside, without leaving an oily after taste. The chip is crispy and fluffy on the inside. I think i have the best fish and chip in Auckland !!! Good to try it out for sure !!!

   Whole order was disgusting even my dog wouldn't even touch it and she would literally eat anything Ordered 2 scoops of chips yet barely got 1 scoop ordered snapper and that was barely up to the standard of basic fish also pretty sure it's not even snapper and the potato fritters had raw potato in them basically the whole order felt like they just took it out of a fridge and microwaved it but not enough to actually heat it up and then they over salt it to cover it up no clue why all the fish and chip shops up here are so inconsistent you either get great food or it's inedible but this shop is one of the worst

   Food was very yummy. My kids loved the chicken nuggets and chips. Fish was melt in your mouth good and the egg burger went down a treat. Service was great with less than 10minute wait and our food brought out to where we were sitting

   Very nice, phoned an order thru & 10 mins later picked it up, all neatly placed in a box to carry it out in. Seafood chowder (large) is HUGE - way more than expected (bonus) & lots of nice chunks of seafood. Fish of the day was some of the nicest fish I've had, & hot dog's were great. Chips were very tasty & nicely cooked.
