   I recently had a PET CT scan and it picked up a 'hot' thyroid nodule. I was referred to Allevia Head and Neck Clinic for a biopsy, and I was terrified. I did not know what to expect and did not fully understand what was happening. My experience with Allevia, however, was excellent from the very first contact. Adriene was professional, kind and accommodating. She helped to find a suitable time slot and immediately sent me all the paperwork I needed to arrange pre approval. On the day of my procedure ( 26 November) the radiologist explained everything thoroughly, and I could feel my anxiety slowly melting away. The nurses were fantastic as well -empathetic and reassuring. In the end I hardly felt anything during the biopsy. The results were available within NO TIME ( maybe a minute or two) as the clinic has a pathologist on site who has also attended the procedure- and Dr. Raj , the surgeon, explained everything in a way that was easy to understand. My experience at Allevia Head and Neck Clinic turned something frightening into something manageable, and I am truly grateful for the care I received. Thank you Marta Foldkozi

   Muammar has a unique bedside manner. He is delightful and engaging. I did not leave the office feeling like I still had questions to ask. Muammar is a good listener. After the operation the recovery was without incident. I happily recommend Muammar for anyone who needs their wisdom teeth removed. Muammar is very passionate about his work and I feel this is reflected in my fast recovery.

We talk about bedside manner and whether a patient has trust and confidence in the person who is about to operate on them. For myself I would have to feel one hundred percent confident and this is how I felt with Kevin Smith. Kevin guided me through the whole procedure with patience and empathy, I felt like I had his full attention and total care. Every person on his team were impressive, they all made me feel confident about my procedure and helped and guided me from beginning to end.    Dr Muammar Abu-Serriah completed a complex sialendoscopy for me. I am a chronically unwell and unfortunately rather complicated autoimmune patient. As well as his professional and warm manner and his skilled and experienced surgical abilities resulting in a successful surgery, I was most impressed with his attitude towards my situation. Muammar respected the knowledge and experience I have of my personal specific medical complexities. He listened to these, collaborating with me to make sure my surgical plan (extended hospital stay together with longer IV antibiotic treatment after surgery) was completed successfully. For chronically unwell patients this really matters! Thank you Dr Muammar for your professional and empathic approach.
