The Embassy Theatre on Kent Terrace is an absolute must-visit if you love classic theatres. The location is very convenient, the building is beautifully maintained, and the seating is comfortable plus it wasn’t cold like some theatres can be. The architecture alone makes it worth visiting, even if you’re not watching a movie. It’s amazing to learn about the theatre’s history, nearly 100 years old, and its connection to major premieres like The Lord of the Rings and more recently Avatar: Fire and Ash. I watched Avatar: Fire and Ash here and it was a fantastic experience. Truly one of Wellington’s iconic landmarks.

The Embassy Grand is huge and Wellington’s best movie venue. Home to the Film Festival and Film Society (check that out every Monday, the best entertainment value in the city). The food outlets and bars seem closed a surprising amount of the time, which is a pity.

Great place to watch a movie, especially for Lord of the Rings fans. Watching The War of the Rohirrim here was a special experience. The theater’s charm and atmosphere added to the magic. Definitely worth a visit!

The Embassy is a delight to visit, I always arrive early so I can walk around and absorb the grace and nostalgia of this wonderful theatre. Service is friendly and professional. The viewing on a big screen and great sound system always adds to the experience. My favourite theatre in Wellington.

Great place. Great handy location. Right in the middle of the city. Close to bus stops, restaurants and much more. Good customer service. Little bit pricey. Needs Little upgrade as some seats do look old. Over all great experience. Highly recommended.

Built in 1924, this is one of New Zealand's best theaters. With a capacity of 750, you can consider it as one of the larger venues as well. It is worth visiting for its beautiful interior.

Never have I ever heard such perfect and superior speaker sound in a movie theatre, or anywhere, really! (talking about the main auditorium) Any octave gets delivered with utter power and dignity, so that one never doubts its capability! Apart from the sound, the screen and interior and design is magnificent and a nice experience "at the movies". The sound of the main auditorium is the inspiration for my own home cinema.
