We were the only diners in the restaurant at 7.30pm on a Sat, which was very surprising. The restaurant decor is very nice and in keeping with the Hilton Hotel decor. It was a pity that you couldn't see any views out of the windows as they'd all had an opaque glazing put on it, maybe for privacy. I felt very sorry for the young waitress who had only been in the job for 3 weeks. I asked her some basic things about the menu and what some items were, as I was unfamiliar with the words e.g. caval nero and togarashi. Unfortunately, she had not been trained on the menu and had to go and ask the kitchen staff twice, but we could hear everything that was being said from our table because the kitchen was near by and the restaurant was quiet, which was very unprofessional. It's very disappointing that a restaurant in a 4.5 star hotel has not property trained their staff about the details of the menu. So the service was average. I would've expected a lot better for a top notch hotel restaurant. The food is Asian fusion. We ordered the chicken laksa roast, the lamp rump with sides of carrots and broccolini. I must say we were very impressed with the tastiness of the food. I had never had a chicken laksa roast before and the chicken was beautifully tender with a delicious sauce. The lamp rump was excellent too. However, the most disappointing thing that happened at the very end of our dinner was when we heard the kitchen staff loudly clearing their throats and spitting into the sink in the kitchen while talking to each other. I was dumb-founded to hear this. The kitchen is not closed off so you can hear everything. I've never heard this before in any restaurant and I was shocked. The restaurant really needs to up their game and make some improvements to staff training and professional behaviours.

We went to Spring Kitchen for dinner and have been served with exceptionally delicious food and drinks. My medium rare steak was cooked to perfection. The burger was so tasty. The service was also good which made it such a great night for the family.

Staying at the hotel, I dropped in for a bite to eat on a busy Friday evening. They looked busy and I hadn’t booked, so I wasn’t too hopeful for getting a table. I was grateful that the helpful team were able to accommodate me, and I didn’t feel at all rushed to finish my light meal. I ordered the eggplant with a side of vegetables. Both dishes sounded interesting on the menu; however, I regret that their taste was underwhelming. The eggplant, though dressed beautifully, was oddly oily and bland. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy, but also bland. I enjoyed the ambiance and professional service of the restaurant, and I might return when staying next to try their breakfast.

My partner and I recently celebrated her birthday here, and we had an absolute fantastic experience. The wait staff were delightful to deal with, and the food was delicious, while being rather different (being Asian fusion food) yet incredibly clever. The spice levels in each dish were perfectly balanced, which is one of the several reasons why I consider this worthy of 5 stars. I had the salmon entree, which was perfectly cooked and tasty salmon, with one nice dollop of beetroot reduction, and one of a lemon/citrus reduction, which paired nicely. The main was the tandoori charcoal chicken which was simply fantastic. The spice on this was outstanding, with a little bit of heat, which I found really kicked it up a notch. The charcoal chicken was perfect to me, ever so slightly crisp on the outside as you would expect, but perfectly cooked and juicy on the inside. The sauce was an excellent pairing too, as was the wasabi mashed potato, even though I am not a fan of mashed potato. The addition of the cardamon seeds was simply genius, and added a little something to it that was incredibly enjoyable. As for desert, I sadly forgot to take a photo, but it was the caremalised charred pineapple, which was also delicious. I especially enjoyed the sticky salted butter sauce on the side, which also had a small touch of cardamon to really add to the dish. It was a desert that you would never really see elsewhere as it truly embodied the fusion style, and considering how yummy it was, that's a bit of a shame! I love different and interesting deserts, and this was a prime example of that. Aside from that, the decor had a very nice 1920's feel to it, with some modern twists, to make the room cosy yet stylish. The wine selection was also really well chosen too. All in all I would very much recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting something slightly different yet special

Beautiful food. I'd describe it as Indian Fusion - there's something for virtually everyone here, and even when strong flavours are used, they're often used delicately - never overpowering the other parts of the meal. The atmosphere is reasonable, located on the 1st floor - there's very little other noise or foot traffic to distract from conversation. The wine menu was put together well, with wines to match every menu option. The staff were incredibly attentive and exceptionally knowledgeable about the menu items and wines. If you're after a spot for a nice dinner or a business lunch Wellington's central business district, this is definitely a fantastic choice and well recommended.

Was in Wellington this week for work staying at the Hilton Double Tree. Normally a bit dubious about checking out hotel restaurants however decided to give this a go. Man was i impressed. The service was pretty top quality and the food was light, flavourful and really warming. I walked about feeling satisfied with my meal. They have a very well priced menu and wine range (again very surprised by this normally over the top charges). I had my entree and main out pretty quickly. I followed with breakfast the next morning which was a bit of a let down compared to the evening priors experience. Although a buffet some things were cold and the selection wasn't huge... it felt more like an Airline lounge breakfast. Dinner was ~$80 including wine, and breakfast $35 with a flat white (which was cold...)
