   The Albany is the quintessential kiwi pub, but with next level food. I had the surf and turf on Turkish bread. The 200g scotch filet and real calamari, muscles and prawns melted in the mouth.

   A Culinary Experience Beyond Compare! From the moment I stepped into The Albany, I knew I was in for something special. The ambiance was warm and inviting—an effortless blend of elegance and comfort. Every detail, from the soft lighting to the vintage setting, set the perfect tone for an unforgettable evening. Starting of with the food which was absolutely divine. Each dish was a masterclass in flavor, presentation, and creativity. Every bite burst with bold, balanced flavours that danced on the palate. I got incredibly generous amounts for everything I ordered. The steak was a standout, but truthfully, everything we ordered was phenomenal. Service was impeccable. Our server was attentive with great knowledge and recommendations about the menu, and genuinely passionate about making our experience exceptional. Even the drinks exceeded expectations. The wine selection was impressively curated. And don’t even get me started on the dessert. The Chocolate Mud Cake is definitely a must order. The chocolate cake was pure bliss, deep rich chocolate melting on my tongue creating a sweet ending to a perfect meal. Five stars aren’t enough to express how great this restaurant is. Highly recommended!

   Big sprawling relatively traditional pub. Great outdoor seating area, good tunes, nice staff. The food is on the expensive side - I went in to eat and could not bring myself to park with $30 for a pub pizza. It’s got your classic sticky floors, sticky menus, furniture that’s seen things… but a lot of history and heart. I wouldn’t trust a cocktail here but a lovely pint of Guinness and a good chat in the garden - bang on.

   I’ve come here on many occasions for family events but decided to pop in with some friends for dinner the other night. Can’t fault the food or service, everything was cooked perfectly. Highly recommend the calamari and shrimp salad

   We have never been here before, but we ordered tonight for delivery. The food arrived on schedule and was very nice. Our family ordered the meat platter, steak & eggs, nachos, and chicken nuggets & chips. My son did complain that the chips in his nachos were a bit soggy, but that would be due to having it delivered. We really enjoyed the meat platter, which says it is suitable for 3-5 people. We think it would definitely be closer to 3 people unless you had other things to eat or were small/light eaters. The ribs were voted the best item in the platter. Chicken nuggets & chips were pretty standard, and the steak & eggs were delicious. We were watching Kitchen Nightmares while eating our dinner, so we were potentially more likely to be critical of what we were eating - but it was delicious, and we were very pleased with it.

   Came here on Tuesday Rib night. Staff was accommodating and gave us a well lit spot! We got the ribs (of course), Margherita pizza, mussel pot, special beef curry and kids nuggets and pizza. Servings were generous and the fries were a highlight at the table! Coconut curry sauce for the mussels was a bit bland. Overall a great place to come for a family din! Thank you!
