   We had our church unlimited lifegroup there, it was my first time there. We had our leader to order our food, They been there before. The service was excellent, Didn't take that long for our food to arrived on our table, The food was so delicious, Duck was moist and tender, crispy pork crackling noise was crispy , bbq pork yummy marinate. Every food was beautiful. I so love the food there. I would love to go back there again. Golden Rooster made my blessing day Top mark for me, that goes to my other friends as well it was there first time as well.

   We went here as a group of 6, had the yum cha special where all the steamed items that came in the baskets were $5. The food was fantastic and table service was great too. There’s a $2 pp tea charge which is a great deal too. On the way out however we were charged an extra $12 (on top of food + tea). We weren’t sure where this extra charge came from. This was a bit of a let down especially as the food was so good. So PSA- check your bill when you go to pay

   We went to try the yum cha here after reading an article about it on the NZ herald stating how the owner refused to raise prises amongst struggling economy in order to keep his loyal customers happy, despite all other restaurants raising prices. From the article the owner seemed like a great person so we decided to support his business and try it out, even driving all the way north from central Auckland. But our experience was very different, the customer service was horrendous with the waiters got our orders wrong and gave us a receipt that did not match the dishes we ordered. We ordered 15 dishes but we only got served 12 and at the counter we were charged for 4 dishes.We were decent enough to explain this was not our order and did not want to underpay when they made the mistake. We took photos of our dishes after eating as proof of only getting 12 dishes despite ordering 15. But the updated receipt listed 13 dishes. We did not speak good mandarin and could not read Chinese so we kindly requested them cross check the dishes we ordered in English but the waiter refused and instead spoke to us very loudly and quickly in mandarin, forcing us to pay without reassuring us we were paying for what we actually ordered. We wanted to clarify that the number of dishes we were being charged for was the same number we ordered, despite them not serving all the dishes we ordered. The lady then went to the kitchen to check with the chef and came back to say their order is correct but never explained her reasoning to us or showed our receipt. Another worker then came to explain in broken English that the 13th dish was a tea charge, but no one explain why they did not serve us our original 15 dishes. In short they handled our order incorrectly, forcing us to lay without explaining the receipt and what dishes we were paying for, their customer service is abysmal, the food was average and to the plain side. If you do not speak or read mandarin I do not recommend you go here at all because the waiters there treat you as an after thought and yell in mandarin to you, despite them making mistake of getting our order wrong. We went out of our way to try out their yumcha and support local business just to be yelled at and treated poorly.

   Absolutely delicious pork tripe and chicken herbal soup! You can really taste the quality of both the ingredients and the Chinese herbs used. The portion is very generous and great value for money. Highly recommended — I’ll definitely be coming back again!

   I discovered a really nice dim sum spot at night. The prices are quite affordable, with each dish costing only $5. I found their promotion on a little read book, but I wasn't sure if it was legitimate at first. The tables are clean, and while the service is decent, I feel that the overall vibe of the shop could be improved. For instance, closing the kitchen door would enhance the shop's image.

   We had late lunch there at 3pm today. Was empty. But the food was fabulous!!! We had chicken mushroom, sweet and sour chicken and beef black bean with rice. Very very good cuisine. Highly recommend.

   Ordered $12 combination rice. I actually thought I was getting the best deal in town for this price but as they say IF ITS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE THEN IT IS... Bloody disgusting meal! Chicken wasn't cooked, rice was underdone. Food tasted old. Yuck yuck yuck.

   Experienced Good Fortune Restaurant for the first time. The food was both excellent in quality and epic in quantity. Being invited by a friend as a guest, I did not sight the menu, and therefore I cannot name the dishes. Below are just some of the food pics. Leftovers filled 9 very large takeaway containers. Recommended, particularly for a group of 8 or 9 for a big traditional dinner. Returned a second time and U can say Good Fortune are consistently very good.

   Have been here several times but just back again for dinner with some friends dining in. The restaurant is not too big but sitting arrangement is comfortable. As for the food the taste is consistent and is good. Large serving and affordable pricing. They have a very special lunch deal for only $10.00 and there are many dishes to select from. However the service was not satisfactory. The young lady waitress was only interested in new customers coming through the door. The request of those who were seated was not promptly attended to and even forgotten when she was free. But if you are in the area and interested in some Chinese food, take a look at their menu. If the dishes interest you, well, just give it a try.
