“I am have been playing guitar for years when I wanted to progress further in classical guitar and found John to help me with this. He is a wonderful guitar teacher, extremely knowledgable and very patient (especially with one who has picked up habits from other ways/styles of guitar playing). He requests high standards from students, and this is done with gentle persistence and a lot of humour. John is always very accommodating with his time, diligently in contact by phone, email and text when arranging lessons to suit, and very kindly offering make-up lessons when the situation appropriated the requirement.”

“Prior to coming to Pigeon Mountain kindy, my daughter was a very shy girl. The Covid lockdowns didnt help in developing her social skills. Eversince coming to Pigeon Mountain kindy, she has continuously broken out of her shell. All thanks to the kind teachers of this kindy. We always look forward to her artworks that she's making at kindy. The teachers are also very approachable and they really have genuine concern on the development of my daughter. My husband and I appreciate their regular updates and our morning interactions with the teachers. As immigrants, we felt very welcome in this kindy. We also learn a lot about NZ culture and other cultures as well, through our daughter's stories on what she learns from the kindy. Plus it's at the foot of Pigeon Mountain so the kindy regularly organises mountain walks (which I think is very unique in this kindy). Great and kind teachers, safe and accessible location, welcoming atmosphere of the community, personally I think Pigeon Mountain kindy is the best in East Auckland!”

“Parakai Kindergarten is a place where you child feels safe, seen and gently encouraged to build their confidence. My son had spent the last 3 years there before turning five and moving to school. Even though he’s moving to school, and his teacher is going to be his mum he still wanted to stay at kindy where “he was so happy”. I feel that the teachers deep love and respect for their tamariki is illustrated in my son’s statement as he was so sad to leave his favourite place. Kindy isn’t just a space place for the children but a space for the whole family to be connected to the thriving community and culture that envelopes Parakai Kindergarten. As a mother and a teacher I could not recommend Parakai Kindy enough and only wish I had sent my older son there too.”

“Polina and Vlad are extremely knowledgeable and passionate educators. Polina sets expectations in a firm, gentle and respectful way. She gives her students plenty of encouragement. Her lessons are full of fun and our children enjoy her lessons very much. Her lessons complement work done at school really well with plenty of repetition with games and exercises. Our 8 year old was struggling hugely with maths at school and now she’s doing well.”

“I have had the privilege of both of my children attending Montessori Children's House for their preschool years (3-6). Both children left Montessori for primary school with amazing foundations in reading, writing and maths. Not only this, but the environment and opportunities that Montessori provides to be creative, sporty and to explore nature and science, has been instrumental in allowing my children to become well rounded and ready for the world. The facilities are fantastic and the teaching team and management are supportive, kind and caring. The children and I found it very difficult to leave when it came time for primary school.”

“I can't recommend CELC more highly. I have been blown away by the centre and the team who make it so special. My two children have blossomed during their time at CELC. The teachers are kind, caring and intentionally foster a safe, calm, stimulating environment for the children. There are fun new activities daily, the children are taught in a way which fosters a love of learning, and they learn not only information about how the world works but also about self-care, relationship skills and emotion regulation. “Cotswold Preschool & Nursery has a wonderful vibe, quietly tucked away from the busy world we all live in today. There is plenty of safe parking. I have 3 children, 8,5&3 years old, my two boys absolutely loved going there & my daughter (3) enjoys it very much & gets excited to go. All of the children love the teachers they are very caring,they do amazing job on the childrens profile books,work as a team,have fantastic stations of creativity set up each day never the same old boring things to do.The children loved the space of inside & outside.They help the children 'get ready for school'. The team of teachers are all very supportive to me as a parent, dealing with different stages the children have gone through. The cost (cheap) of sending my children here over the years has been amazing.This community base centre, is a real asset for the community! I would highly recommend Cotswold Preschool”

The food choices are amazing and very well balanced. I can see how my child has blossomed and grown in the few months she has attended. She comes home daily with new information which is taught in such an enthusiastic way. The teachers are caring and very attentive. Definitely recommend!”
