“This review is going to be quite long as the Lanark team have done a lot on our home and I want to make sure I don’t miss anything out. Lanark first came to our attention when we brought them in for a second opinion on a broken toilet that a different plumber had told us couldn’t be fixed. Donovan managed to get it working again that day and then made plans with us to come back in a few months to replace it at a time that worked better for us. The next project was an update to our gutters. I’d been trying for literally a year to get someone to come and give us a quote and kept being given the runaround by specialist companies who didn’t seem to take on our irregularly shaped roof. I eventually found a team willing to take the job on, only for it to quickly become apparent they were woefully unqualified to complete the job. In a passing conversation, my daughter mentioned Lanark does guttering and roofing, and again we got Donovan around for a second opinion. He was at our house within a few hours, where he pointed out many instances of unsafe and sub-par workmanship from the other team. He helped us navigate out of our contract with the other team and had his team on site within a few weeks with proper materials and the classic Lanark can-do attitude. The gutters look amazing now and have been performing excellently. When it was time to update our aging Heat Pump Lanark was our first call. The team were incredible, great advice, quick turn around and the new heat pump runs like a dream, so warn and quiet! Honestly, I wish we’d done it years ago. It’s gotten to the stage now where we get them around for any odd job we think of to make our home more comfortable. They were in last week to baby-proof our TV and move some power outlets; as always quick, friendly and impeccable finish. I can’t rate Donovan, Rhys and the team highly enough. The quality of their work is outstanding, and they’re genuinely a pleasure to have in your home, always respectful of our space, and nothing is too much trouble. Absolutely wonderful to work with.”

“We had a really great experience with our two builders Ferg and Johannes - they were a super organised knowlegeable pair who worked really well together. We had been involved with this team on a previous commercial building and because of that experience we felt there was no other choice to be made. They were courteous very tidy and a pleasure to have onsite. In fact they almost felt like part of the family. The alterations were not always easy but they had great problem solving skills and kept a good sense of humor at all times, Their building knowledge and skills were second to none and when they left the site after some 4-5 months our grounds were left as they were when Ferg and Johannes arrived. I hope that we never need any other building work completed as sadly for us they have now moved to Dunedin. We wish them well and to anyone down Dunedin way we can highly recommend the team at Smith and SOns Rennovations and Extensions.”
