“My paragliding journey started with a wonderful tandem flight with Grey Hamilton, the head honcho at Cloudbase Paragliding in Christchurch, and I fell in love with paragliding straight away. I decided to go to another company in Queenstown (just for the scenery) to start my paragliding training, but really didn't enjoy the teaching methods there so I came back to Christchurch to finish my training and become a qualified paraglider pilot. And I'm so glad I did! For starters, the scenery in Christchurch is also beautiful, but while you're learning you're concentrating so much you don't really think about that. What is much more important is what, and how you learn. Grey and his assistant instructors are very experienced, and they teach with care, patience, and with safety at the forefront. Also, (unlike in QT) they really love what they're doing, and I was never made to feel like I was wasting the instructor's time when it took me a while to learn something new. Grey also teaches all the necessary theory, from the physics of flying, to airspace law, to meteorology, and helps you through all the exams you need to pass to qualify. Having recently been awarded my licence, I feel super confident to explore NZ with my new gear (which Grey very kindly sourced for me at a discount price) ready to put my new skills into practice. And now I can enjoy all that beautiful scenery with no stress! Thanks to everyone at Cloudbase! :)”

One of mine was super nervous to drive and Lynette absolutely calmed her down and gave her the confidence needed to drive. I also highly recommend, when it comes to the test day, you book the lesson and test package. The support role Lynette plays really helped both my kids feel relaxed as she was with them as their support person the whole time during the test. “I loved everything about this space. An old school with a range of different businesses in the old classrooms.The court yard was filled with tables and chairs and a very relaxed vibe to go with it. I had the Eggs Benedict, a delicious coffee and piece of scrumptious slice for the road later. The Bene was that good I haven’t stopped thinking about it. The cabinet was full of healthy options with plenty of gf to. I think I’ve just found my new stop over.”

“Wouldnt ride anywhere else, absolute quality instruction with fantastic well cared for horses. They even offer riders the opportunity to compete on their horses which is awesome. You not only learn how to ride, you learn everything from horse mastership, grooming , how to lunge correctly etc.”

“I have a life ending condition and barriers with health and at times affects ability. I didn’t have a great 1st time experience BUT I give them 100% credit for listening, caring and understanding that led to a change that is great for not only disabled persons but also pregnant or otherwise impacted persons to be able to watch their child like all the others and commend them for being open to change. My child LOVES this place and I think they are trying their best. 2 thumbs up from me. Overall I think the staff are amazing the coaches caring and the kids love it so I encourage others to join and support a local community doing great things for our kids”
