“We had to urgently put our daughter into daycare due to unforeseen circumstances. The Centre manager was super helpful and accommodating to us and helped to relieve a lot of our stress at the time. My daughter had a great time and made many friends. She loved all of the teachers and would have stories to tell us at the end of each day of fun things they did. We look forward to send our youngest when he’s a bit older to this great facility.”

“An excellent Kindy with a good balance of play time and learning activities. Their Rising Stars program for older children is a fantastic way to get kids prepared for their starting school. Parent interaction and involvement is also at a really high standard.”

“Prior to coming to Pigeon Mountain kindy, my daughter was a very shy girl. The Covid lockdowns didnt help in developing her social skills. Eversince coming to Pigeon Mountain kindy, she has continuously broken out of her shell. All thanks to the kind teachers of this kindy. We always look forward to her artworks that she's making at kindy. The teachers are also very approachable and they really have genuine concern on the development of my daughter. My husband and I appreciate their regular updates and our morning interactions with the teachers. As immigrants, we felt very welcome in this kindy. We also learn a lot about NZ culture and other cultures as well, through our daughter's stories on what she learns from the kindy. Plus it's at the foot of Pigeon Mountain so the kindy regularly organises mountain walks (which I think is very unique in this kindy). Great and kind teachers, safe and accessible location, welcoming atmosphere of the community, personally I think Pigeon Mountain kindy is the best in East Auckland!”

“Parakai Kindergarten is a place where you child feels safe, seen and gently encouraged to build their confidence. My son had spent the last 3 years there before turning five and moving to school. Even though he’s moving to school, and his teacher is going to be his mum he still wanted to stay at kindy where “he was so happy”. I feel that the teachers deep love and respect for their tamariki is illustrated in my son’s statement as he was so sad to leave his favourite place. Kindy isn’t just a space place for the children but a space for the whole family to be connected to the thriving community and culture that envelopes Parakai Kindergarten. As a mother and a teacher I could not recommend Parakai Kindy enough and only wish I had sent my older son there too.”

“My son began his journey at Henderson Kindergarten when he was two years old. I was relieved to see the whole team support his transition to his new school. They communicated his needs well and regularly to us and we were able to provide consistent support to him in this adjustment period. After a couple of months we have seen how he has improved and thrived in his environment. He has gained his confidence to speak to his friends and teachers, he has gained friends whom he plays with regularly. He looks forward to going to kindergarten everyday. My son is happy and he enjoys his time learning alongside his peers and his teachers.”

“Two of my girls attended Howick Baptist Kindy and we absolutely loved the experience. We were always greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. I appreciated the integration of faith and learning, and my kids had so much fun while at the kindy. The other families whose kids attended HBK became close friends and have remained so. “My son currently goes to this kindy and absolutely loves it! All the teachers here are fantastic and so supportive - they are the reason why this kindy is brilliant. I feel comfortable walking in and having a chat to any of the teachers. The programs are great - the kids even learn yoga on Tuesdays! This kindy celebrates all kinds of cultural festivals - Diwali, Chinese New Year & Matariki. There is always something going on. I really like the smaller number of children to teacher ratio and the community feel this kindy offers. My son has made some lovely friends and it's been great getting to know the parents. The new playground is super cool!”

“The nursery class attached to a private school for children aged 0-2 years old? The walls are high and mysterious, and you can't see inside. The privacy is very good. You have to wait in line to be admitted.”

“Our child has been at Fossil Bay Rudolf Steiner Kindergarten for over a year now, and is flourishing there in terms of developing social and leadership skills, creative and analyatical thinking, and listening and speaking skills to name just a few. The staff are very motivated, practical, attentive and most important of all, very compassionate and loving with the children.”

“We’ve been sending our 2 children here for more than 2 years now. They’re a wonderful and caring team of staff, striving to do their best to cater to the individual needs and interests of every child. Our kids are so excited to come home and share everything they’ve done in their days. We do however get a bit jealous of the near daily walk trip to feed the alpacas - how cute!”

“If I could give 10 stars I would!! Albany and Rangitoto Auckland kindergartens my son and daughter attended. My friend highly recommended to bring my kids here. The teachers at NAKA are STARS!! Super creative and really caring. They all are so passionate about teaching, learning and giving our kids the best start in life.”

“Both of our children have attended PMK and we can't speak highly enough of the centre and our experience there. Without exception, the teachers are nurturing, kind and emotionally in-tune with the children. The small ratios allow for a personalised approach to learning where each child is closely observed to support their growth and natural interests. The teachers generously share their own cultures which has enriched the girls' experience and supported early learning of Te Reo Māori. A special mention of PMK's music programme led by Meryl Main which is exceptional and has brought us so much joy as a family. The centre itself has excellent resources and a fantastic outdoor area with natural grass and a veggie garden. We are very sad to say goodbye next week but our four-year-old is so ready for school - thank you PMK!”
