“I had such a pleasant experience at sonelle radiology this morning. It was my first time coming here and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. I had a dating scan and my husband and school aged son came along too. It was lovely that they were so accommodating with children, especially since many other places have strict rules on the number of people or children you can bring. The sonographer Katy was very lovely and very detailed and thorough during my scan. Look forward to coming back for a 12 week scan. Really love that they forward you the digital photos but still give a print out too. Highly reccomend this place.”

“Dr Michael Wynn-Williams has a very cool, calm and collected aura. His confidence in being able to excise all of my endometriosis (stage 4) wiped away all of our worries. I went into the surgery excited & with a smile plastered across my face. I came out the same (except a little fatigued & with a tender belly this time!). Endometriosis is a viscous disease so I am really grateful people like Michael exist & have chosen this as their niche / profession. I felt at ease throughout the whole process and had an army of support afterwards. I was also able to get in touch with Michael easily when I had any concerns throughout my recovery. “After consecutive miscarriages we came to FA to have testing done in order to find some answers. We had an appointment booked with Dr Simon Kelly, and they arranged an extensive panel of bloods & other tests to be done prior to coming in. I suprisingly fell pregnant the week before our appointment so Dr Kelly put me on medication to help hold the pregnancy and have just given birth to a beautiful healthy baby! While we can’t say for sure if it was the medication that helped this time or just pure luck, it gave us peace of mind & hope. I had asked my gp for these meds previously and was dismissed. Dr Kelly was kind, compassionate and really listened to us. It was the first time i felt heard in 2 years and we would highly recommend FA to others struggling with infertility”

“Overall, we had a very positive experience with them. We appreciate the professional service we received at Birthcare, and we absolutely love Kate and Lazzie, who demonstrate genuine care and profound commitment to the child, the mother, and the whānau. It was a very touching experience to see how they hold and talk about our baby, and how they model breastfeeding and baby-care techniques. We had to stay there for four days, and we experienced thorough and thoughtful care from at least seven staff members. All of them are professional and, in general, know what's best for our child. At first, it might feel like you experience inconsistent care and standards (which might be slightly true); however, the brighter side of this is that we learned so much from different staff members, as they all have their (unique) strengths. We also need to be aware that many of the staff members come from a different cultural background, and English may not be their native language, so it may take a while for you to fully understand them. For a minute, I even thought a few of them were quite condescending, but when you take their advice with an open heart and active listening skills, you might soon realise it is just how passionate they are about their job and how much they want to share what's best for you, even if you might not like the way they told you at first. Plus, the food is nice. A small surprise was that there was one time a student midwife (a quite capable one) came and performed a check-in and standard procedure. But she was not under any supervision during that time. Neither did she introduce herself as a student midwife until I found out. Highly recommend this place, especially if you are a first-time parent. We definitely learned so much!! Thank you, thank you, and very best from the bottom of our hearts.”

“I had a procedue undertaken yesterday under general anaesthetic which I had been very anxious about in the lead up to it. All of the staff I interacted with were caring and patient with me, and they did their utmost to make me feel at ease. Doctor Koya was great, the anaesthist was great, the nurses were very kind to me and attentive, they all made a very difficult procedure for me as comfortable as they possibly could. “Three weeks after my injury I had an appointment with Matthew at the Millenium Center. He acted really professional and did some tests with my knee. After the tests he said that I had to do an MRI to confirm what he already thought: my left ACL was completely ruptured. After the diagnosis he and his secretary acted really fast, he checked if my knee was strong enough for a surgery, he said that I would be ready in 4 weeks if I would train with the physiotherapist. We planned the surgery in 5 weeks so I had some extra time to regain my strength in my muscles. The surgery went really good and fast, I stayed 1 night at the hospital and then they discharged me. I saw him a few weeks after the surgery, he was really positive about the progress that I made and he encouraged me to continue at this rate. Right now it is 2 months after the surgery, I walked like I used to do before the surgery, but he was really strict that I couldn't play football again till at least 9 months because the ligament needs time to regain strength. The scars that I have are really small. I don't have any other experience with surgents but I think that Matthew is a really good surgent. He knows what he is doing, he is positive and he is a very nice and social guy. Thanks!”

I am a 40 year old first time mother and it was important to have a care provider like her that has 30years experience and both a medical approach as well as a respect for the knowledge and experience-based style care that comes from midwives. This may be unique to my situation but I appreciated having scans, blood tests, and hard data to rely on as well as advice and wisdom from experienced mamas to help me make the right decisions for me and my baby. Along the way of my prenatal care she was honest and clear about the statistics, approaches, and interventions used in some births and potential outcomes –she didn’t sugarcoat things– and was always respectful of me and my partners endless questions and had no problem when we declined any interventions or elements of care that didn’t feel right for us. “I have recently received 3 months of follow up nursing care from Health Care New Lynn after having minor surgery in September. I cannot praise the team of nurses highly enough. They have been exceptional in their care and handling of my 2 and sometimes 3 per visits per week. The nurses were caring,careful and vigilant in the changes of the dressing.
