NO ACCESS TO TRAIL AFTER 8PM. This seems to be a new change as the falls are often mentioned as a site to see glowworms for free. We were met on the trail and advised we were prohibited from using the track unless we sought permission from the education centre warden. Signage at the entrance to the Te Auheke track states that cars should be removed from the car park before 8pm, when gates are locked. The gate does not currently exist but is probably being installed

It will be difficult to come to this walk to see the glowworm waterfall due to the site closing its gates from 7:45pm. Better check the season before visiting

Most incredible glowworm experience, the first waterfall rock wall was absolutely covered, panoramic glowworm view. A bit difficult to find, but go to the school and walk to the field, the google map pin is correct

This is a beautiful walk for the family. Really easy and the waterfalls is stunning after rain. You can get right up to it and there are no deep pools in front so great for kids. The entrance is not the one with the large sign and parks in front but is across the oval on the left (facing the oval). There is a timber sign.

Hard to find start of Track... head up the field of the education centre and you will find start of Track. Nice loop. Very sunning falls.

Two small but beautiful waterfalls. Signage is hard to find but a nice easy walk.

The car park is at Okataina outdoor education and recreation trust, is a big parking area. To get to the start of Te Auheke walkway you follow the little fence up past the water tank and along the tree line until you come to the Te Auheke sign. Is an easy 20min walk (1way) in a covered walkway

Beautiful hike. Great falls. Very kid friendly. Started off across from the jungle gym and then wanders through lovely native bush to a small grotto where you will do over the falls. Be sure to stay away from the buildings or a taniwha may come out and growl you... Like if helpful
