Just don't .. Very dirty and dusty, not vacuumed to a clean standard, mould in the bathroom, dodgy with broken lights, dodgy heater. Washing machine broken and carpark like sardine tin.
Wonderful stay at the old flat 1011 George St. mum Dad and daughter very comfortable in the room with extra room off to the side. Plenty of hot water and a great little kitchen with fridge plates cutlery etc. and best of all, excellent value
I had to find a room in a hurry. I booked it through their website in the morning. I arrived shortly after 2pm only to find they'd overbooked and the other people had arrived first, so there was no room for us. It was a major inconvenience for us, as my son wasn't feeling well and needed a lie down. If somehow they overbooked, I'd expect to be contacted to let us know, so we could find another place.
Historical building, nicely renovated and decorated. We got an early check-in, a room upgrade and a late check-out (as we traveled for the Dunedin marathon event and needed more time to get ready after the race). Staff was friendly and our room had everything we needed (and definitely more character than your usual hotel room). Close to the city centre, botanical gardens and a supermarket, also to quite a few eateries and take away places, all within walking distance (or a few minutes by car). Overall - great value for money.
This is a great find in Dunedin. If you prefer the boutique hotel experience you will love Highland House. Top cleanliness. Prompt service. Quiet well appointed rooms. Will come back.
No hot water when I went there, told I can wait an hour or shower tomorrow. There was still no hot water all night. For the price I'd expect there definitely to be hot water. Not that impressed
Rooms spacious and clean. Reception and service excellent. Location good. My husband is disabled and this room was perfect. Enough space in bathroom toilet area. Would recommend it and price was not 2 bad. Would stay there again for sure. Just remember this building is from 1911 so do not expect a modern hotel, but it was renovated and looks good
Very clean & spacious room. We were happy with the ample space in the bathroom and kitchen areas. Staff were very friendly and were helpful throughout our stay.
We recently stayed in a family suite. The room was perfect, it had everything we needed and was warm and comfortable. It was also the ideal location for us, as we could easily walk to the local supermarket, pharmacy and the botanic gardens. Having a car park right outside was great. We also spent a whole day walking all around the town centre, so Highland house was in the perfect location to do this. Thanks for a great stay
